seraphim, my parents believed that they were created by their parents. I'm sorry if your parents told you they weren't....I realize that this must be shocking news to you.

My hat's off to you for your brilliant logic.

I would think that, were there a god, and that god were as you described, then we are within our best selves by questioning his existence.

god is whatever you chose it to be but i'd exclude the idea for want of definition and take advantage in the lack of confusion . Nature's logical pretense is all the base of understanding I need . Free your mind and your spirit will thank you.Atheists fully well understand the power of nature abounds far beyond that of the man contrived concept of god.
if you need comfort or a crutch then lie to yourself but the truth
has always been right there in nature.

LOL, yep, he apparently wants me to be one. I can't believe no matter how hard I try. As soon as I try to believe, I am filled with anger over injustices and his lack of action so much that my only relief is to remind myself that he really isn't real. This cycle has undermined my recent attempt to rekindle faith within myself. I am stuck with atheism. Pascal's wager is a biatch, and most people would rather be safe than sorry in most things. But, I can't do it. We are doomed if we are wrong, but if we are wrong we were predestined to be this way. So God is a jerk or he isn't real, I don't know which is worse. *sigh*

Actually, that doesn't make sense. He is the higher power, so it's not that he doesn't believe there is a higher power, it's that he doesn't worship a higher power because he is the higher power. Of course he would believe he existed, that is, if he existed.

I'm an atheist, but ...your logic is faulty.

Fact: God swears in the name of His creatures in the Quran. He doesnt use anything but His creatures when He swears.

Fact 2: God asks us not to swear in anyone but His name in the Quran

Deduction: God believes in us and consequently asks us not to believe in any creator but him.

Note to all: Christianity is not the only religion that describes God people. read and be informed

That's a good point, but more importantly, why don't we have the amazing ability to create the universe out of nothingness, call down lightning at whim, and do that cool water-to-wine trick?

Hmmm... so, have you stopped beating your wife yet?

Logical paradox there.

God is *the* highest power. God is not a created thing; He is the Creator.

Posing the question as you did, one could then logically say, "Since your parents believe no greater being created them, they want you to believe you magically poofed into existance without parents".

It is a nonsensical question, and just kind of proves that this world is going all to Hell... literally and proverbially.

Wait, doesn't this lead to a logic loop?

God, No God, God. No God. Yeah, a definite loop. This might hurt my brain, and I mean in a good kind of way...no really, all the best.

where did I leave the rum....

Good question but I think He wants us to believe Him

He does, however, believe in a power that is higher than ourselves, so the answer to your question is "no".

This means God is black, as Adam was black. Bwahahaha. Didn't create this white boy in his image. Which means that God is fake.
I don't think it was mentally though, if this did happen, just physical.
