I grew up in Roman Catholocism, but have, within the past year, realized that I do not agree with the idea of organized religion. I am very spiritual, but I do not go to church, follow religious laws/commandments, etc. However, I am signed up for my weekly youth group. I enjoy being with my friends, and I like discussing my viewpoints. However, I do not want to go against my own morals and beliefs. Would I be completely contradicting myself by attending?

I thought being with your friends and discussing your views is what a youth group is all about. If you enjoy being in the group, I say stay in it. Maybe you can open up a few minds with your unique brand of spirituality.

Youth group isn't really organized religion, it's more of a public forum where you can voice your religious ideas. As long as it's not a front to convert young people, go ahead.

I case you're still unsure, go to a non-denominational church that doesn't follow any specific teachings.

there's a gulf between anti-Jewishness (fully unacceptable) and anti-Zionism this is to oppose religiously-inspired injustice (ethnic cleansing). whilst Zionism began as a laudable purpose to envision a Jewish native land alongside the indigenous Palestinians, it replaced to become discriminatory and aggressive by using the Forties, ending up as extreme religiously-inspired Israeli nationalism that recommended exclusiveness and dispossession of non-Jews. The stoning of Jews is unacceptable, and is similar to the dreadful activities of the 1930/40s there, the place Jews have been excluded, dispossessed and at last murdered en masse. Opposing Zionism is something else completely, very such as opposing apartheid became, and out of doorways a war zone could be carried out peacefully. Any habit in a war zone could appreciate the Geneva conventions. i do no longer see how a Jewish dance team, a cultural troupe, might properly be at a loss for words with something Zionist besides, so this looks a sparkling case of undeniable and straightforward anti-Jewishness. criminal. Edit: @Irtaza: "in the beginning ,they have been ISRAELI jews which ability they have been ZIONISTS" You dont be attentive to that - did the stone throwers ask the comments of each and each member of the dance team? by using no ability all Israelis help the dispossession of Palestinians. in spite of in the event that they have been, became their actual participation to sell extreme Zionism (there are additionally non-extreme varieties) or no longer something to do with it? in spite of if that they have been merchandising such Zionism, any protest against that should no longer have been violent. I agree that Israel has performed and maintained an incredible injustice because 1948, yet in spite of if the protest in Germany became against that and and not something to do with faith, it is going to no longer have been violent. I understand the anger, yet there are ideal and incorrect a thank you to particular it. That became incorrect.

As long as you dont act all fake and compromise yourself, theres nothing wrong with going. I go to a Baptist Church because I like the fellowship. I'm Wiccan! I just tune out the Preacher!

I say go and have a good time. Our thoughts and ideas change as we mature as Christians. You may feel differently in a few months or may not. Be with your friends and discuss your viewpoints.

Depends on how far you take it. Initially, that's why I stopped going to church; I couldn't go through the motions with being a hypocrite, and others noticed when I didn't go through them. From what I've seem of Catholicism, it'd be even worse; the crowd is positively Pavlovian in their identical responses.

OTOH, you seem on your way to becoming a freethinker; maybe you'll bring others with you!

No, not at all, the one thing I do agree with about churches is that fellowship is a good thing. Enjoy yourself, just dont compromise your beliefs to fit in.

No, how could it be bad or wrong? You definitely should go. We all need to be a part of the body of Christ somehow. Maybe you should try a different church, too!

I don't think it's wrong to want to socialize with people of your own age. Sometimes open discussion helps you define yourself better, or make things more clear.
