You can introduce the computer to him if you haven't already, just a half hour a day of 'screen time' on sites like pbskids.org or noggin.com, or there's "Reader Rabbit Playtime for Baby" for ages 9-24 months - my daughter LOVED that. If you have any other stay at home mom friends, you can start a "toy exchange" with them - switch toys for a month or so, so your kids (and theirs) have new stuff but you're not shelling out $$$$$$$$.

1. Put away half of his toys for 4-6 weeks. At that time put the ones that are still out away and bring back the others, he will be so excited to see them again.
2. I suggest not introducing him to the computer yet. A 2 year old should not be bored with life yet.
3. Play a different game with him every day. Change things up, make it interesting
4. Arts and crafts (go to the library and get books that teach you simple crafts)
5. At the library find out story time for kids
6. Take him to the park
7. Have a colour day. Grren day. You both wear green, eat green (food colouring and colour green!
8. Build a fort with him
9. Explore the neighborhood together (trees, flowers, cars)
10. Sing and dance to music
He's 2, you have to interact with him a lot. When you do need a break, THEN put on a good video for him.

Check out my website, www.happysahm.com. And check out the Just For Kids link. There are quite a few things that you may like on there. Also, while you're there, click on the HappySAHM Store link, click on the Shop Now Graphic and check out that busy book listed. That's something you may be interested in.
JD is 16 months old and soooooo curious about everything. I really do know what you're going through.

if you have internet and I'm presuming you do. www.pbskids. com can be fun an educational. Also go for walks, look online fo different crafts you can do that are age appropreiate. Also go to park or anything outdoors. Read lots of books. Color, paint, go out and use chalk on the sidewalks. Elmer's has that Go Paint that is mess free. Play-doh or clay. Also play out in the hose or sprinkler. Just a few ideas to throw around.

My 2 year old is a play doh addict. He also likes to help mash guacamole, potatoes, etc. The sink is another favorite. Just saw a fun thing in parents on using the droppers from the infant meds, to play with water. We've also been into fort building, I build, he destroys. He's also digging now playing with fake food, you could always make this out of construction paper, and putting the pepperonis on it.

Siblings entertain one another rather well!
Until then, try getting together with a playgroup from time to time. Go to the park together. Read to him. Play with him instead of always expecting him to go away and play. He wants your attention, and although I do not suggest he have it 100% of the time (he should be able to play alone for 30 minutes at least) I do suggest you give him your undivided attention as often as possible. Live life with him, not just in the same house.

Try looking at some web sites for games to play with him. Or some he can play on his own. And if you find something to keep him from driving you nuts, hit me and let me know what you did, cause i have two kids, 5 and 3 and they still drive me nuts! lol but their only little once so enjoy it while you can.

At this age we did a lot of coloring, puzzles, sidewalk chalk and finger painting. Also, play dough is wonderful and it helps with gross motor skills too. Also, we just take a lot of walks. He'll carry a bucket with him and collect leaves and acorns etc. I bought some cheap tin containers to collect all his "finds." Then we freeze them. He is so excited to get them out of the freezer and out them out to melt.
Also, we do a lot of story times at the library, trains at barnes and nobles, museums. Playdates are great at this age to learn about sharing.
At times, computer games are wonderful. www.sesamestreet.org has this keyboard that helps them learn their alphabet and numbers. It's an Elmo game. From there, he learned how to work it on his own.
Have fun!

When I was about 13, I had to babysit my little brother who was about 3. He would get bored with everything, until I gave him the controller to a Playstation. It wasn't connected to a game, just the controller, and he just sat there and would play with the buttons...donno if that helps but it worked for him.

oooooooooh we love to finger paint, play with playdoh, make a tent out of blankies, put all the couch pillows on the floor and camp out.
popcorn and a movie in our living room, play dress up in mommies clothes, make a racetrack on the kitchen floor, i let her wash plastic dishes standing on a stool at the kitchen sink (just water)....so many fun things for little kids.
Just keep in mind for the kiddos that everything is BRAND NEW. so everyday junk we use or daily stuff we do is really cool for them.
At 2 my daughter wanted to do everything I did including sweeping, mopping, dishes, vacuum, dusting, talk on the phone (LOL), I can't think of it all.
Use your imagination and he will love you for it.
