I filed for an extension, paid a rough estimate for both fed and state. do I use the 1040 form to file now or do I need another form. 4/15 wiped out my accounts with the estimates. Had 1099 contract labor and 1099 debt relief along w/ W-2's. The 1099's killed me. I need to know what forms to fill out to go ahead and get this behind me. have never done this b4

Just file your tax return as usual. Same forms as always.

Same forms as before. Get a tax program and turn on the tutor or the part of the program that just asks you the questions and you fill in info for every yes. Turbo Tax is reliable and fairly simple to follow. Any questions, you will have to look up at www.irs.gov. Or just go get a professional and let them do it the first time so that you have some idea how to handle it in the years to come. Your extension is only good for a short time and you need to get going. . .

You would use the same forms that you would have used if you had filed on time.
