Which nation (Russia or China) is bigger rival to U.S. in Military?

Russia is ahead of China in a lot of areas, specifically technology. Russians have at least a decade on China in that respect. Actually, most of the sophisticated tech that the Chinese possess they have bought from Russia.

You can tell from that that Russia has a lot more equipment; a larger and more modern Air Force and Navy, and thus far more projecting power. Russia also has thousands and thousands of more nukes than China. Actually, the Russians right now possess the world's most modern and sophisticated nuke, the RS-24 (the U.S. Minuteman III is decades old, and will not be replaced until 2014).

China leads the U.S. and Russia by far in terms of active military troops, though as everyone knows the number of troops you have stopped winning wars a long time ago.

This depends on what you mean by 'military'?

In Military size, which would only come into play if the US invaded or was invaded by either of the two, then China is by far the bigger rival as its military is much larger than Russia.

If its in terms of military technology, then Russia would be the greatest rival as they are not far behind he US in weapons technology and perhaps even ahead in some aspects.

China on the other hand relys on military imports mostly from Russia and these are generally a generation behind current Russian Equipment.

CHINA! No question, with the largest standing army in the world and soon to be the largest naval power. The Chinese troops are highly disciplined, well trained. and can overwhelm any other army on this planet. With the billions and billions of dollars from imports, paid by the dupes and idiots of the western world, China is an economic superpower, a nuclear superpower, and now the most formidable military power on the planet. China will occupy and control one day, what is now called the United States, and when that happens, the borders will be secured, there will be ethnic cleansing, and affirmative action will end! Donald Trump is complaining that he cannot buy concrete because China is using it all in new construction projects. China is buying and using more steel than the rest of the world combined. Its trade surplus is up 80%. And then there is the matter of China holding a ton of America’s notes, which it could dump on the market causing the US Dollar to crash.

China is close to being more powerful than the U.S. Most of our clothes and expenses are now industrially shipped from China because business men find it more convenient since pay there are hugely lower than here. What they dont realize is that they have turned America into this country that is now the feeder of communist China. i think that china has more economical power than Russia, and their political ways are more orthodox than Russia. so china would be a bigger rival to u.s. and you gotta have in mind that that Russia begun it´s perestroika long time ago to a global economy and this is almost like begin all the economic system over again.

I personally suspect Putin has dreams of controlling the world AND I suspect he intends to NOT step down at the end of his term as leader, it seems he is building up a military and following so that he can take control of Russia and then move on to confronting the USA.

Russia is as poor as sh*t and has a very bad military now and isnt commie anymore so not much of a rival in military. China has the biggest military in the world, it just sux. So id have to say China.

Right now, China. Russia has given up, temporarily. Once they bring back Hardline Communism, they will again be a big threat.
But, don't forget that Russia and China have been enemies ever since Kengis Khan.
