actually time is a man made tool there is no such thing as time however there are seasons which work in relation to the earths orbit around the sun and the earth is actually slowing down - slowly so one could say time is getting slower if you related the two together which mankind has done through the ages and gave birth to the clock because of seasons and watching the moon and sun every day.

If time itself were changing, we would have no way to detect that. If time doubles in speed, then we would just speed up and everything in the universe would speed up equally and everything would seem the same to us.

It could be. According to the theories in modern science, everything is relative. Therefore, we should be able to detect a change in time. But there are so many things that are unknown. Perhaps we exist in a dimension where time is independent of relativity in someway.
