Going camping with a couple of families, and we're responsible for a meal. Any fun recommendations. Really not looking to do hot dogs.

there is no reason that you have to cook. get supplies such as cheeses, turkey, ham, and other lunch meats, sliced tomatos, and other sandwich fixings. also get a variety of breads too. then you can offer them the stuff by itself or my favorite a turkey and cheese rollup. My 27 month old loves rollup sandwiches. Make a large salad to go with it and offer the kiddies a few veggies with some ranch sauce for dipping. (adults like dipping too so bring enough for them too)
or if you are set on cooking, pre make some chicken and just reheat it.
My family camp a lot. I precook a few items such as chicken, baked ziti with meatballs, chili, the fixing for taco, and I also bring chicken nuggets and fish sticks that when wrapped on foil heat nicely on the grill.

Hot Dogs! Fun, easy, and little KP. Other than that, whatever the parents eat that the kids like.

Just plan for simplicity, perishablility, and clean-up.

My kids LOVE smore's on a camping trip. They will bear 102 degree heat for two days just to eat one smore!

Im assuming you have a grill/campstove...Get hamburger and make patties in the shape of Mickey Mouse's head.
