I got my dog spayed today, and I was wondering what the vets take out when they spay a dog (ovaries and/or the uterus)?

It's both (at least that's what my vet told me), I had my dog spayed a week ago Monday and did some online research while she was in the hospital. What they didn't tell me was that sometimes they have scar tissue and it bulges up around the stitches, so if she gets like a weird bulge thingie, it's normal. That should ease a lot of fears if it should arise, it's apparently quite normal... but the vet never said anything about it... and I kinda freaked out lol.

They remove the ovaries and the uterus.

Ovaries and Uterus. So that way, there wouldn't be anything left to put an egg in, if you somehow got it in.

I think they take just the uterus but they may take the ovaries too.
