It was reported in the news last week that the Iraqi Police have "misplaced" 190,000 weapons that the US Military provided and trained them to use. That must be two weapons per policeman. Is this picture that unclear to the White House, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of State, the House of Representatives and the Senate? I don't get this. Can someone enlighten me so that we're all singing out of the hymnal?

Iraqi's don't understand the reasoning behind accountability, just like they don't focus on being on time to places. It's just not how they are. If they need money or food, they sell the weapon or sometimes they'll just lose them. They don't have the discipline or the understanding of the whole reason behind accountability. There's alot of things that have to be instilled in them that as Americans for the most part we're taught don't lose this, don't lose that. If you need money, you borrow or take out a loan. They just sell stuff. They don't have the same work and living ethics as we do. Prime example, some Iraqi mechanics were helping our mechanics fix the Iraqi humvees and right in the middle of the day the Iraqi's up and left. When asked why they were leaving, they said they were tired and would rather be with their families. When asked why aren't they putting the mission first, they responded with I'd rather be with family. They don't understand the importance of a lot of things or our way of thinking, it's just not their culture, so to think that they'll stress accountability and discipline as much as our military would be naive.

The Iraqi police is like a militia or in the U.S. a national guard not meant for wars with China or North Korea but to keep the peace or fight in minor conflicts like the Iraq war they are just although unlike most militia they are a puppet of the U.S. and the U.K.

The weapons aren't missing.

They said thay were unaccounted for.

In Pentagon speak, that means they failed to record the serial numbers of the weapons, before issuing them to the Iraqi units.

The same report said that 14,500 weapons and other gear are missing.

Its pretty simple, the US likes to give away equipment and weapons to the enemy, and like normal the US claims they don't know who has the weapons or equipment.

The US likes to spend money on foreign countries rather than using that money to help get our troops the equipment they need, such as the new vehicles that protect soldiers from IEDs.
