Tossed green salad, sliced tomatoes, and a bowl of cut up fresh fruit [looks pretty on the table, nice 'palate cleanser' for the spicier side dishes]. Of course French bread or garlic bread [foil a whole loaf that you've cut partway thru in slices and drizzled garlicky butter in between slices--this can go on the BBQ to get crunchy-warm]. Also, fresh green beans cooked crispy then dressed with a vinaigrette - put dish beside the tossed salad as an add-on for the greenery.

Since you already have pasta, potatoes and a veggie, I would go with a salad, rolls (garlic bread or bruschetta), a beverage, & dessert (the cake) & ice cream. You could add an appetizer like stuffed mushrooms or shrimp cocktail. Or bbq some portobellas or veggie skewers - cherry tomatoes, chunks of onion, button mushrooms, mozzarella balls (or pineapple chunks). A tomato & cuke salad with sliced red onions w oil/vinegar - could be another side dish. Have a great party.
