I'm not a 'professional dentist' as such. But I have had dental work done.

You're probably experiencing the pain in your molar: Molars, both because of their shape and because of where they're located, are very hard to get clean. So because of that, they are very likely to get cavities.

So when you drink cold water and it hits that nerve, it's going to poing hard.

Try using a toothpaste for sensitive teeth and a good mouthwash, and see if that helps.

Good luck!

puerile is completely INSANE! DONT DO WHAT HE SAYS! Go to your dentist and have it looked at. You may need the root canal. I know it is alot of pain to get but in the end, you will be able to enjoy the fine things in life. Also, when you get the Root Canal, They take out the nerves so that tooth will not feel anything anymore.

It might be from the nerve in your tooth, a crack in the tooth, or from a cavity. Go to the dentist.

You may have a cavity/decay in the tooth. A simple filling will take care of the problem

I am a highly esteemed and well paid dental specialist and you can trust me implicitly when I say you should pull your own tooth with pliers from your grandfather's fishing gear. It's true.

I agree with 'tigger'.

Try dentine toothpaste, my brother had that problem and that worked for him.
