If this is your dog and can no longer keep him, how much you can get for him should not be your first concern, you should be trying to find the perfect home for your dog, not trying to make the perfect profit. Wouldn't you rather see the dog go to a great family at no charge than have him go to a bad home for $500?

You don't.

If you can no longer keep him, put him up for adoption. If you are trying to sell a leftover puppy from a litter you had six months ago, then you need to give up on breeding and have your dogs spayed and neutered.

If you are simply rehoming this dog, it should not matter to you how much you spent on him -- only that he ends up in a good home.
