I actually have.
To think about the compassion...I wish, I wish I had it in me!

What a Great question. I never have but I have cried about Jesus asking their forgiveness. But I have cried picturing Him taking all that beating and not once did he complain. What great love Jesus have for all of us asking God to forgive those who crucified Him. And when i whine and complain about others the Holy Spirit has to be the one to remind me to forgive. And do I forgive right then and there? Sometimes. I want a heart of forgiveness as soon as it is needed. I want to be forgiven so I know others do too.
I can't get over your question. What food for thought. Thanks and God Bless You.

I have.
I really cried when I read about Yeshua reinstating Peter.
When he asked Simon Peter "Simon, Son of John Do you truly love me more than these?"
He asked three times.
And three times Simon Peter said that he did love Him.
It was so beautiful that Yeshua was completely forgiving him for the three times denials.
Always makes me cry.

I like the concept of forgiveness that the message of the Crucifixion gives humanity, the idea of negating the crimes perpetrated on us by our malefactors. I don't believe, but if you do that's alright too. If it makes you a better human being for it then good for you.

Yes, and its amazing of how clear it shows how perfect jesus is. Many question...why didn't Jesus do this, you know? But in deep pondering of Jesus, you find all the great things he did and praise him for that.

my husband and i attended a retreat prior to getting married. there was a lot of talk about guilt etc. (i cried a lot!!) but then the next day we focused on forgiveness and how focusing on nothing more than guilt meant Jesus died in vain. in other words he gave his life to wash us of our sins, right? we must forgive each other and ourselves...

I don't cry because I know that it was the will of God. It was God's decision to sacrifice his son. Without that, there would be no Christianity. Now that would make some people cry.

I think Ive felt more anger then anything when I think of the atrocity and cold blooded way in which it was performed or portrayed to be performed.
Luckily, Im told such a thing didnt even happen.
Thank goodness, Islam is such a big relief for me.

you know that line "sometimes it causes me to tremble..."? that's me! i remember listening to some people arguing about 'who killed Christ-the romans or the jews?' and it struck me that, inasmuch as He died for my sins, it was ME who killed Him...that set me back on my heels a bit!
there's a toby keith song called 'if i was Jesus' that has the lines "i'd know your dark little secrets, i'd look you right in the face, and tell you 'i love you' with amazing grace..." that always gets to me

Yes, it is a beautiful gesture.
But I cry at the end of the Wizard of Oz, too.

I cry because He hung on the cross for me. I was to blame because of my sins.
