1. Pay their parent(s) a living wage for their work
2. Pay your taxes, especially your school ones in urban areas. Those kids start behind and the schools have more to do and less money to do it.
3. Adopt one.
4. Become a foster parent
5. Be a Big Brother, Big Sister
6. Go to kiva.org and/or DonorsChoose.org to see what possibilities there are. Many will have great impact.

Be kind to them. Yes, they can be little brats that get on your nerves, but the best thing you can do is say something kind anyway, and use each day as an opportunity to teach a child something positive about the world.

Thanks for asking. Identify and fill the need. Whether referring to a specific child or children in general, children's needs vary. One subgroup that I have identified and worked with is abused and neglected children. There is likely a group home in your neighborhood that houses children who do not have parents able and/or willing to care for them. These children need adults that will help care for them on all levels. Many could go to foster homes or be adopted. Others just need to get out for a few hours. There are many physical needs, everything from clothing to hygiene items, Emotionally, they need somebody who will care, NO MATTER WHAT, as many of these abused children are also abusive. Mentally, they need books, good teachers, adequate class rooms, as many are in special needs schools with limited budgets. Spiritually, they need to know that God loves them, because they have not felt loved. These children tend to be forgotten and simply housed. They get a band aid, when they need major surgery. These children will be tomorrow's adults and if we don't properly care for them now, we will care for them in our jails and prisons tomorrow. I hope somebody reads this enough to care.
