Ok I know he's got a half day pass and want to fly out there and surprise him but worried if he's allowed to have visitors during AIT.
What info will I need at the gate of FLW?
Does he have to let FLW know I'm coming there first?
If I just show up can I still get in to see him?
Will he get in trouble?
He's really close to graduation which I can not attend so I'm very serious about flying out there even if it's only a few hours.

I tend to agree there are way too many variants and the time is so little it isn't really worth it. If however you do decide to go, going as a surprise is definitely not the way to do it. He will need to let his supervisor know you are coming as he may need to sign you in and/or get permission to do anything off the base with you (even with a half day pass). It is always best for him to let his command know about this sort of thing, especially so early in his military career. I understand how anxious you are to see him, but I tend to agree...wait until he is done. He should get some leave time once AIT is done and the money you would spend on the plane ticket, rental car and hotel could be used to give the two of you a very romantic weekend together then.

Don't do it.
First, even though they say he has a pass coming up, it could get taken away VERY easily. Someones weapon isn't clean...contraband in the barracks, anything. It is not worth trying to fly out there and see him. Just wait, it makes that family day at the end just that much better too.
And no, no visitors allowed, generally speaking, but FLW is big, and theres plenty of places to go. And he could get in trouble, all the Drill Sergeants know each other, and if you're caught messing around, then he will get in trouble.
Other than that, if you HAVE to go see him, then just tell the gate you're here to see PVT so and so, and they'll ask for I.D. show them (driver's license is fine) and they'll let you in.

If you Fly in to the FLW / ST Robert Airport you will land ON post and if you are only there for a few hours you can just take a cab (there are lots of cabs on post).
I don't think it's worth it but it's your life.

You can but if he is in AIT he will be home on leave and hometown recruiting soon enough. Save your money for a great time together while he is on leave. Right now write hime email him, text him etc. He does need your support but just encourage him to continue to knock out AIT pass his tests so he can come home.

AIT is pretty relaxed but I doubt they will let you on a base without some sort of pass. Your money would be better spent if you waited till he graduated. (I know you can't go) But he may have a two week to two month wait till he receives some real orders.

Bad idea. Not enough time for him to stop thinking about training and he will most likely be dead on his feet. Someone mentioned he might not get pass for various reasons. Very true. Save your money for something special when he gets home. Sorry, I think reality will not come anywhere close to your fantasy.

a half day pass? Not worth it in my opinion. It could take half the day just to get on base. and yes, that pass can be rescinded at any time for any thing.

If he has a pass, you can visit him. If you are renting a car, you need to have your license, and rental agreement, and you need to know what building you are going to. If you aren't renting a car, just have some form of photo id, and have a phone number where you can contact him, they may call to verify that you are going to meet him.
