In a dual military marriage, if my husband is at a shore command and I'm going out to sea duty, will personnel cut my BAS? They already denied us BAH, but they haven't cut my COMRATS yet. However, the ship will be going out of port soon. What should I expect? I looked in MILPERSMAN 7220-180, but it doesn't specify as to my situation.

BAS depends on the ship's policy,... they either provide you meals and you lose BAS, or they give you BAS and charge you for meals.

as for BAH.. what is your paygrade? if you are living in PPV housing, the senior is alloted BAH w/D and the junior forfeits BAH entirely. if you are in regular base housing, you both forfeit BAH. if you live in town, you should both qualify for BAH Single.

if your spouses lives in the barracks then he is not entitled to BAH. if you live on the ship, then you, too, are not authorized BAH.

Being on a ship your BAS will go down because the ship feeds you, but his will stay the same. At least one of you, if not both, should get BAH. My husband and I both got BAH, I think it is the commands decision.
