I've researched them, and decided I would like to own one as a pet...but I can't find a breeder anywhere in the US...i found 1 in the uk, but they don't ship

Anyone know of any breeders in the us that ship their jerboas...also, how much does it cost, not including the cage and accessories, just the jerboa

i'm not sure about breeders (or even if they are legal in the united states) even though i have some of my friends in the u.k. that own them, but the five-toed jerboa looks similar to a degu, another uncommon pet that is increasing in popularity in the u.s. i know this might not be what you want to hear, but you may have to consider another pet (such as degus), at least until jerboas increase enough in popularity to where you'd be able to easily find one, a breeder, and information on legalities... hope i helped! =]

They're very similar to gerbils, which are available everywhere.

Jerboas may be classified as exotics and not available as pets in this country.

ooh! i saw them on tv where people had them twice :)
one was a kid, but she said she found it. it looks so cute! unless you want to catch one, you can ask someone you know from the UK to come over during the summer and bring a jerboa :S i highly doubt that though. i know you'd love to have a jerboa and they're awesome, but get one if you want to look hard for one. why don't you get another pet? you don't have to get a jerboa.

Last I knew of, you needed a licence to keep them in the UK. Not sure about america, sorry.

They look like gerbils, so you should get a gerbil.
