I am trying to learn Japanese, and I've learned that 森 (mori) means forest. However, my husband mentioned that at work, and he was told (by a Japanese coworker) that watashi was a better choice of word. Now I know watashi means "I/me".
Does watashi also mean forest? Or did he mean 林 (hayashi) was the better choice of word for forest (meaning I misheard my husband, or he misheard his coworker), and if so, what does mori mean/what does it imply (in its relationship towards foresthood)?

Mori - imagine a mountain slope, in Canada , covered with trees. Something like that

While hayashi is something smaller, with not so thick pants and small, younger trees, and the space it takes is smaller than mori

Watashi is "I" and cannot be "forest". So, he means 林(hayashi) not 私(watashi).
木(ki) = tree
林(hayashi) = forest, grove
森(mori) = woods, but also translated as forest
As you can see from the figures 森(mori) has more 木(trees) than 林(hayashi).

The verb "to die" is "shinu" 死ぬ or "yuku" 逝く. "takai" 他界する can also be used. The word for death is "shi" 死 or "shibou" 死亡. There are also quite a few more expressions that can be used to euphemistically express "death" Forest green is probably best expressed by "shinryoku" or "fukamidori". Both can be written in kanji as 深緑. Deep green or very dark green. Adding the kanji for "color" 色 does not change the meaning in any way.

"mori" means the woods
"hayashi" is forest
"watashi" is I/me mainly for women but guy can also use it too
"boku" should sound more like for men
