Not counting Thanksgiving.Just a regular meal would have to be "my spaghetti". All 4 of my kids love it and always have.I have to make the meat on the side because two of them have become Vegetarians(yuk).But I like a heavy sauce with lots of garlic,onion ,oregano,basil,and about a half a cup of red wine in it.After it is done and the noodles mixed in ,I take some nice extra Virgin Olive oil and douse the top then cover it with Parmesan. I put my sausages and ground beef on my plate and dump the meal on top,with garlic bread.Then we all watch either a ball game or Ebert and Ropert . Doesn't get any better!
Either that or a barbqued Tri-tip roast,with garlic mash potatoes and corn on the cob roasted mexican style in the husk(Elote).After roasting peel back husk put a mixture of mayonasse,chili powder and lime juice,slather that on and OH,Boy!

Sexy Pasta Sophia. Wonderfully simple to make and a great meal.
SOPHIA'S PASTA
* 4 slices thick-cut smoky bacon, diced in 1-inch pieces (he uses Sugardale)
* 1 large shallot, diced
* 2/3 pound chicken tenders, cut into bite-sized pieces
* 28-ounce can diced tomatoes, with basil, garlic and oregano (he uses Redpack)
* Salt and pepper
* 2/3 box pasta of choice (Mark used fettuccine, the restaurant in Erie uses penne, and we used whole wheat spaghetti)
* Parmesan cheese
Put water on for pasta.
Over medium heat, saute bacon and shallots in 10-inch frying pan until bacon is softened but not browned, about 5 minutes.
Add chicken and saute 5 minutes more. Add tomatoes, undrained, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cook 5 minutes, covered. Remove cover, stir and cook an additional 5 minutes. Salt and pepper to taste. Serve over cooked pasta and pass the Parmesan. Serves 4.

Since I was a kid (I'm now 38) my favorite meal was fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. Usually we'll have some kind of vegetable with it, like corn or green beans, and sometimes we'll have biscuits with it.

Slow-simmered vegetable beef soup with homemade noodles, bread right out of the oven and dripping with butter, a big old glass of ice tea, and yellow cake with chocolate frosting for dessert.
Good stuff!
