Cloning is widely used and most of us do not even realize that we do it.
Have you ever taken a cutting from a plant that you liked and rooted it to form a new plant?
You just cloned a plant.
Geraniums are a good example of a plant that is easily grown by cloning in that manner.
Have you ever planted bulbs of a flower, such as Gladiolas? Have you ever dug up the bulbs that the Galdiolas produced and replanted them?
If so, you cloned the Gladiolas and you did not even know it.
Have you ever planted roses or fruit trees?
Roses and fruit trees are grown by grafting cuttings from the parent plant on to rootstock. Those plants are clones of the parent plant.
I would certainly hope that you do not think that cloning is bad.
We have been cloning plants for hundreds of years.
Cloning helpe us preserve particularly desirable traits.
We would lose some of our most productive types of commercial plants if we did not clone them.

Cloning is a rather broad concept. Are you limiting the discussion to animal cloning or do we include plant cloning? We’ve been cloning plants for decades, except that we refer to it as “vegetative propagation.” Are you going to include the commonplace twining that occurs during the natural process of reproduction?
What about parthenogenesis, where an unfertilized egg develops into a new individual, occurring commonly among insects and certain other arthropods? This all has an economic impact on much of our greenhouse/farming technologies. Is this the research to be discussed?
Does your question include the dairy industry’s use of embryo splitting, artificial embryo twinning. This is blastomere separation (were they tease the gametes cell's apart to produce twins) or just the new 'Dolly' technique; somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT)? The technique where the nucleus of a somatic cell is injected into an enucleated egg cell. At a cost of about $20,000 each to produce, clones are used for breeding only.
The most interesting use of cloning to date has been to add to the breeding populations in endangered species. The first cloned endangered animal was reported in 2000. I think that is a pretty good use of the technology. They get to develop the technique and aid in wildlife restoration.

Like any other technology--it depends on how it's used.
It can be misused, certainly. But cloning offers a lot of potential for increasing food production and quality, for producing new medicines. Current work is developing technology that will be able to grow replacement organs from a person's own tissue--eliminating rejection problems and the need for organ doners.
Humaity had the choice to use nuclear technology to build bombs or powerplants-to use radioactive materials to kill, or to cure disease. The sam is true of cloning--its up to us to make the right choices.

Cloning is bad right now because the subject and the clone dies. but in the future it would be cool, like a flying car.

Cloning is extremely bad. Because it is violating God reproductive plan. God said be fruitful and multiply. Through man and female that is how we are suppose to come into this world. I believe cloning is from the Devil, his way of bring people in the world, who will never serve God. But will only be control by him.

I think so.
Who knows what we can do with cloning people.
Probably make armies.
Make workers.
Make lovers replace loved ones.
I think science should stay away from human cloning.

It is interesting. It has both positive and negative points, and if it is used wisely, it can be good. But silly people who pay billions to have their cat cloned, that is bad.
