For a smoker and a drinker, I'd say yes. Aren't the capillaries in the body hardened by smoking?

Spider veins are simple to treat. You visit the dermatologist, and he zaps with a laser the beginning of the vein. No blood in the vein, you can't see it anymore. Not painful, or so I've heard.

Hope that helps!

Sweetheart, I know you probably realize that smoking isn't a good idea, but sometime when you want to hear a story, e-mail me. Because I have got one.

No matter what age.....you can get spider veins. Smoking and drinking can aggravate or even cause the problem because they both decrease your blood circulation. Your weight is not that far off base from where it should be for your height, but any weight gain will cause more pressure in the veins as well as standing, sitting or being on your feet for long periods of time. Blood pools in your legs as gravity pulls it down to your extremities. There is also a predisposition to spider veins which may later turn into varicose veins which can be painful and unsightly. More women experience this with childbirth but it can be inherited through either parent. If it bothers you.....spider veins aren't deep and can easily be taken out by injections . If they go untreated and you get varicose veins or deep vein thrombosis...it will be much worse on you and require more progressive and invasive procedures. Wearing surgical stockings, but they are unsightly and hot, will help reduce the pressure of the veins. If you sit for long periods of time, then elevate your legs. Walking will help improve circulation in your legs.
As far as spicy food goes......I could see the spicy food causing your blood vessels to come to the surface.
