I weigh 130 lbs! and i am only 12
I cant excersice right now because i fractured my ankle
I want to lose 20 lbs as soon as possible

You're 12 and weigh 130 pounds? First of all...you're really young. You'll just have to eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables along with lean meats like turkey, fish and chicken. Drink 8 glasses of water each day. If you aren't able to exercise because of your ankle...try doing hand weights and arm exercises. It's better than no exercise at all.

I have struggled with weight as well but since I can exercise, all is good.

The principle of weight loss is, first of all, you have to have your goal. If you need it so bad, then you can do it. Here is the plan:

1. Set your goal. You may want to put a poster if nice female picture in your room or at your fridge. To remind you how you want to look like. Set your target and do everything in your power to get there.
2. The consumption must be less then the energy spent each day. Say, regular female needs 2000 kilocalories a day then we should reduce it to 1500 to begin with. Now we have to think roughly, not to count the calories and stress yourself but stay away from anything fries, oily products and learn to swap food with another one that contains less energy. For example, avoid fried rice but have steamed rice instead or swap french fries with baked/boiled potatoes.
3. allow yourself some treats once a week. If not, you will come back to eating-like-mad regime in no time and this weight loss plan will fly out of the window.
4. swimming is good for you... these days I don't run anymore because every time you run, the weight goes down to your knees and it gave lots of strains there. Swimming only 30 mins 3 times a week should be enough.
5. Remember everything is up to you. You want to look good and feel good with yourself, it's going to be now or never.

My niece is getting fat as well and she's also your age. I was trying to explain how bad obesity is but again, she didn't understand how important it is not to be bullied and to maintain woman figure. Someday she will realise. Meanwhile, I will try to guide her all the way through, as long as she needs me.

My dear,never look for FAST weight loss.Try to eat 6 small meals a day. This helps your metabolism. Also, eat a small meal as soon as you wake up each day. When your body has been fasting for 14 hours, when you don't eat breakfast you body thinks you're out of food and stores all the fat that it can so you can survive. Jogging, biking, swimming, or dancing are good aerobics.
A possible schedule:
1. When you wake up :1 1/2 cup bowl low sugar cereal
2.11:00 - bowl of carrots and an apple
3. 2:00 - bowl of brown rice
4. 5:00 - pasta meal w/ yogurt
5. 8:00 - 2 hard boiled eggs

Follow the general flow of the intake of fruits, vegatables, grains, and dairy. When you drink a large glass of water with each meal, it fills you up 2-3x faster. That helps hunger craving control.

are you tall? if you are your weight is probably more normal than you think

run everyday for atleast 30min
don't eat after 5 or 6pm when your likely not to exercice as much
eat less oil based foods
absolutly no fastfood
you could gain muscle while running and lose fat
(muscle weighs more than fat)
when I was 13 I weighed 140
I'm 18 now (the same height)
when I was 13 I wore size 12 now I wear size 6 and weigh 153 after joining track and crosscountry
use an exercise machine a bike or treadmill if running isn't your thing

Drink a lot of water, no pop, no sugar, no potato chips or fried foods. Eat healthy. There are a lot of things you can do with a fractured ankle to get into shape. Stretching is a key factor in being healthy. You can do yoga, crunches, pushups and situps, arm pulls, leg stretches! Good luck!

Find a hobby. It might work for you. When im bored i just eat unless i find something to do!

Eat lower calorie or healthier foods! Some foods are actually tasty x]


What you can do when your bored:

-Find a good book! Maybe Harry Potter? Magizines?
- Draw some pictues, maybe write a story, write in a diary
-Youtube?

Well it depends what your interested in. Maybe clothing? Or are you into Romance? Comedys?
You can try Korean Dramas. You dont need to know korean, i dont and i love them after a person on Y! Answers recomended them to me XD

You need to wait till you heal that ankle of yours before you even think about losing weight. Once you are fully healed I would suggest running and other aerobic exercises. I wouldn't suggest going on a diet at your age so hold off on that unless its sweets your cutting out. Also remember STARVING yourself does not work. You will just get your body thinking that when it does get food it needs to make it fat right away because it will need it later.

dont turn annorexic. instead, make sure you eat healthy meals, for instance, eat fruit, drink water, and do NOT eat lots of sweets. make sure u have a healthy breakfast to start your metabolism as soon as possiple! if you are already doing this, losing a couple of pounds is ok, but you might just have dense bones. instead of looking at your waist, look at the features you like; ur face, your hair... weight isnt everything! i hope u find this helpful! :]

i am also 12 and i was 130 pounds but wait until ur doctor tells u u can excercise and be active, once ur healed again eat healthy and run on a treadmil if u can and u will lose weight fast!!

when you can move around. take up something active, or even yoga. it really depends on your body. you can do almost anything and eat HEALTHY (don't 4get to NEVER skip breakfast, especially if you wanna lose weight) and you shoudl do good. besides, you're 12, you're still going to grow and probably shed the pounds, and remember, muscle weighs more than fat. don't always pay attention to how much you weigh, check your body type and see what's healthy for you.
