If you cut out 2-3 carb servings per day you will drop the pounds in no time, also cut out soda and drink tons of water. I lost 10 pounds in two weeks by eating Kashi cereal with non-fat milk for breakfast, tuna with relish for lunch (or a salad with non fat dressing) try Ken's steakhouse fat-free balsamic. Yummy =) for dinner only eat meat and veggies and try not to eat anything past 7pm. You don't have to starve yourself just eat better and you will look and feel better too.

BTW, all other factors being equal, at 5'9" and 160 pounds you must look pretty good.
But mind that you do not buy into that stuff about you have to be 104 pounds and a size 1 and 2. That is a creation of Madison Avenue. Camera's put weight on people, and advertising is designed to hammer home points through sheer repetivity.
Those models are un-naturally thin in person, and American's, after years and years of Cosmopolitan and Redbook and Playboy and Cheri magazines
and American prime-time tv are conditioned
to the you can never be too thin school of thought.
Stuff and non-sense! The sexiest female I have ever seen was a farm girl from Iowa.
She was 5'-7" or so and anywhere from 150 to 160, maybe a tad more give or take.
She was unavailable, but she would be number one my all time wish list-celebrities included.
At 5'9" you have plenty of places to put that 160 pounds . Just tell people you weigh less . 160 probally sounds like a " guy statistic" to you. But so does 5'-9".
And watch the body image thing.
I use a sense of humor . I tell people when they were passing out noses I thought they said roses and asked for a big red one.

dont worry what the scale says,
if you feel better, you know your doing it right..
keep eating healthy and take a morning jog, dont over do yourself though, if you dont exerisce at all id say take a joq/walk every morning for 30min for one week then the next week change it to 45min and add some real running, then the last like 4 days walk/jog and run a full hour, and drink plenty of water.

time to get weights, lift every morning and 3 hours before bed. for.the.rest.of.life
Saw this new ab pull on TV - cheaper to hang legs off table, bench, or hard bed, Do lots of situps with twists and turns for obliques and abs
With barbells in hand, do step lunges forward for thighs/legs.
Stretch achilles on steps all the time, good for calves too.

Oh I see go to a gym just don't start eating disorders! So don't worry about your weight Just go to a gym and work out or if you have a tread mill or whatever work out on the that too.

your perfect for your height,you don't need to be a toothpick,people just pick there teeth with them,keep alittle bit of weight, its more pleasing.but continue to eat right,nothing after 7pm, drink lots of water and get out and do some walking. stay and get healthy,don't try to be one of those anorexic models, have fun this school year and do the best you can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
