How would you describe it? Mystical, beautiful, spiritual?

I'm not Mormon, but I saw the inside of a temple once on TV. It was before the temple opened, and the LDS invited the media in to film. It was really pretty, but with simpler architecture/decorations then I would have expected. I'll see if I can find the video.

Edit:
This isn't what I saw, but this might be helpful--

Peaceful is the word that comes to my mind first. It is so quiet, calming and peaceful. I wonderful way to remove oneself from the hassles, rigors, and "noise" of the outside world for the minutes that you are spending inside the temple. It is a calming, tranquil and peaceful environment in which to feel invigorated with the Spirit of God.

And just a side note: there are no "Secrets" in the temple. It is just viewed by Mormons as being very "sacred."

Holy. Beautiful. Sacred. Reverent. Truly a house of the Lord.
Before any temple is dedicated, it is open to the public for a tour - if you are near one that is newly built, I would suggest going, just to see what they look like on the inside. They are built beautifully...I always thought everything in the temples would be white, no color at all, but I was wrong. Really, you should try and go through one before they are dedicated.

The temple is the one place on earth that I feel so close to God and the Son. The experiences I've had are spiritually lifting within a place of beauty and calmness, reverence and inspiring. All discussions are low key and reverent.

There isn't anything mystical about temple attendance, but reverential, inspiring, and drawing closer to God.

In a word: Peaceful.

It is beautiful. It is spiritual. It is so many things, but for me it is peaceful. It's the place I feel most like myself, as though I can be myself and not have to gaurd against revealing something I either shouldn't (given where I am) or have to edit my thoughts or words because it might not be understood by those around me. It's awesome. I never want to leave when I get there.

Peaceful, happy, calm, away from the everyday stresses of the world. It's very spiritual also. The spirit is very strong there, and it just makes me feel like I can deal with life and with everything that happens in it.

The temple- all of them really!- are gorgeous! They aren't over-decorated, or lavish, just beautiful in the way they are put together.

I would have to say a bit of all three. When I think of Mystical though, I'm following Guitarpickers thought of reverential, and awe inspiring. I'd add peaceful to it too. I've been attending for ten years now, and can't imagine life without it right now.

It's like home when you filter out the distractions.

I have tasks to do for my ancestors. I am know I am serving some one else. I hold the name of one who lived over a century ago. I can take part in both my own and my relative's spiritual progression. I can feel her joy as her wait has ended.

I would say peaceful- it's the closest you can get to heaven here on earth. it literally feels like you have stepped outside of the world. I feel at home- like i've been staying at a hotel for months & i finally get to relax in my own bed. You know that feeling? & like the other person said- i feel more like myself- only better. I am the best person i can be when i'm in the temple. I'm truly happy there.
