I'm not overweight, but I'd really like to tone up my abs. There has been a lot of skepticism recently about the effectivenss of normal crunches and situps. Anyother exercises I can be doing at home for better results? (I can't buy exercise equiptment or go to pilates class etc.)

theres not a whole lot of what else you can do. you can try running a little more to lose any excess fat you may still have around your stomach so that it'd be slimmer. however, doing crunches, not situps, WILL work for you. do about 50-100 every day and you should see results. good luck.

This website explains some of the easy ab exercises to do except 5 and 9 require certain equipment. All of the others look pretty simple though.

Side crunches seem to really work your abs too. Hope it helps and good luck!

Ok theese really really work, i was in track for a long time, and the coach made us do theese to tone our abs.

Its really simple, it where you get into a push up position, on your arms, and toes, with your arms extended. DONT bend you waist and keep your butt down, it shouldnt be sticking up. Let your abs do the work, try it and feel it, its works really well, you wanna stay in the postion for about a minute, relax, and do about 3 reps.
try it!!!!

Abdominal exercises (bicycle situps are good) and cut out white flour & sugar. Eat lean meats and plenty of fruits and veggies.
