however, when I am near a river or other body of water or am in the woods, I feel most at peace. I never feel that way any where else. I'm not even sure what it means to be spiritual...could this be it?

Yes, it is. The peace you feel that fills your soul and makes everything else go away is a spiritual feeling. I don't think you have to believe in a god to have a spiritual experience, but if you want to learn about god in nature then study earth-based religions. Wicca is the earth based religion that expressed exactly what I was feeling. You might find a religion that does that for you or not. I feel as long as you respect the earth. That you are honoring her no matter what religion, if any, that you belong to.

No, that means you are in the mode of goodness. In the mode of passion people like the city, in ignorance they like brothels and night clubs. The three modes of nature act in every living entity.

people feel connected in different places at different times.
i for one feel most at peace on rooftops.
try sitting quietly and listening in these places.some basic meditation techniques might help.

Just so you know, ALL people are spiritual, we ALL have a spiritual side, whether we choose to ignore it or not. What you feel is God's beauty, you are seeing His handiwork without obstructions. Maybe you should talk to Him.

No. It means its nice to be outside for a change. And I agree. I'd be outdoors all day if I could.
