What would the world be like if there is only one language and everyone understand it, speak it, write it, and read it?

it would be nice in a lot of ways, but in other ways it would be pretty boring. all languages have their own special qualities. it would be better if everyone had unlimited ability to learn other languages.

If the communication barrier was broken, I don't think much would change. Maybe our understanding would improve, but people's ideology would still be different and extremist would still not listen to reasoning.
