I believe that we have angels that protect us, God sends those- however I only believe in praying to God, because angels answer to God- and I pray to the creator, not something created by God.

I, too, pray to the Father. however, one cannot help but wonder why God would allow angels -- not Jesus -- to prEsent people's prayers....? "Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all the saints, on the golden altar before the throne. 4The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of the saints, went up before God from the angel's hand" (REV 8:3-4).
I mean....why didn't he have Jesus present them as the One Mediator? Also, from the same Scripture passage -- why "the prayers of all the saints"?
Everything God does -- not matter how infinitsimally small -- has a pUrpose. Now do you suppose God slipped up in allowing a 'mere" angel to make such a fabulous presentation rather than Jesus, his only begotten son? One would have to conclude that the Father does accept prayers from angels.....

This is a tough one. I don't Pray to anyone but God.I know a lot of people who do pray to Jesus and their Guardian angels but the Bible tell us to pray only to The Lord our God.You are not even to pray to Jesus. That's why I have a hard time with Mother Mary and a few other things I have heard of.There is only one God and he is my Messiah. So why would I go to a middle person when I can have the Commander and Chief himself?

It's a sin according to Christianity. Idolatry. Your taking worship away from the lord by praying to a guardian angel. I'm no expert but I don't think guardian angels are mentioned anywhere in Christianity.
Obligatory nonreligionist comment: Also, talking to yourself in your head will only alter how you feel. Never in your life will a prayer be answered. It is only coincidence if what you asked in your head happened that way.

Fallen angels or the Sons of God angels? Guardian angels protect Christians (followers of the King of Angels - Jesus). To pray to them shows how close to God (or not) someone really is. In that case, what 'angels' would one be praying to?

Praying to someone other than God,Jesus shows a lack of faith. It is as if you are saying that God needs help or a rest.Since he is all powerful he needs neither.
I know that many of the people here can get pretty aggressive with their answers.I would suggest that look at DustyScribes answers He doesn't belittle and backs up his answers with scripture. Most everyone else is just giving opinion.

Angels are just conduits; God is the Source. Angels are also God's servants like us. Though the Bible did say that angels are "above men," we humans have the privilege of Lord Jesus' saving grace; angels don't. The moment they sin, even in thought, they fall from God's glory.

First and foremost, basically, God said not to.
Second, you don't know WHAT you're praying to. It may be one of satan's own minions in disguise. After all, "Even the devil can appear as an angel of light"
So it's best to just go straight to the source. Don't go through any intermediary, or angel, or person - either alive or dead. Pray directly to God, in the name of Jesus.
Third, an angel has no power to answer your prayers. They are messengers of God that do His bidding.

It was an error in the Colossian Church to go to angels instead of God that Paul addressed specifically and said it really was based on a kind of false humility. God wants us to go to Him. (see Colossians 2:18ff)
If a child was in the same room with his babysitter and his parents, how would the parents feel if the child asked the babysitter for permission to do something instead of asking one of the parents?

The first chapter of the book of Hebrews describes why we shouldn't pray to angels.
There's an interesting quote from Jesus about angels.
"Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven."
