From 2006 to 2007, a total of 127,830 people attended the 34 Acquire the Fire rallies, and 71,414 people attended the three BattleCry events held in San Francisco, California; Detroit, Michigan; and Bristow, Virginia, according to Teen Mania

We're fighting for those who don't know they have a voice, that are being manipulated by our pop culture indulging in things that, really, they're not mature enough to be thinking about yet,"

"They're raping virgin teenage America on the sidewalk, and everybody's walking by and acting like everything's OK. And it's just not OK."

I think that there are a lot of young people not just in the US but throughout the world who are trying to change the materialism that seems to be rampant in our society.

I do not see it as being a uniquely Christian phenomenon however although there is a great deal of publicity generated by large Christian-sponsored events.

This is actually not a new idea, as the Wiccan author Starhawk speaks of attending a "Take Back the Night" rally in her book "The Spiral Dance". These rallies target violence against women and sexual predators, serving to raise awareness of these problems in society.

I don't think religion has anything to do with kids trying to change the world around them. It's the organization that makes your own attempts seem more so then that of others. I say shame more on parents for not doing something about the various levels of non sense and utter bull crap kids are being exposed to. It doesn't take a bible to know wrong from right. And that is a fact.

"They're raping virgin teenage America on the sidewalk" -- when did THIS happen?!

Yep, it's just the Christian kids. Most of the other kids are just having fun as teenagers, listening to music, making out, dressing up, and doing you no harm. If there's any violence it's as likely to come from a kid from a Christian home as any other.

That's 127,830 teenagers out of what ? 6 million teenagers? Every generation thinks the generation before them are "evil" Kids will be kids. Kids today are a lot better and smarter than when I was a teenager. So I really don't see what the point is.

Come on now, The Beatles?? No one has said they are evil or promoting badness in a long time. You crazy Christians and your crazy evil conspiracies. Besides, The Beatles haven't been pop culture in forty years.

Actually, by definition, Christian youth campaigns *are* pop culture.

I wish there were more movements against consumerism though. But I don't think you'll find them at Family Christian Stores.

AdBusters magazine (sold at Barns and Noble) maybe, as paradoxical as that is.

Hey don't forget about the July 7th deal in Tennessee but my main point to you is this for any one that get SAVED! "The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed" now thats for every believer. Thats our calling plus the Father still has a plan for us to walk in.

Children are learning about adult themes much too early because parents are becoming younger and younger with each generation. Bad parenting ultimately leads to poor culture and crappy generations.

Religion is only compounding the problem.

From the numbers yo just quoted, I'd say that it is only the christian kids.

But good luck with it.
