Ok..some of you say the South Park episode was "spot on" But that episode went into the Moron history and it was so far fetched that only an idiot would believe it..they also knocked the religion through out the whole episode. So South Parks take on the history of the Mormon faith was correct?

I answered a similiar question just a few hours ago. Here's a copy & paste

Many, many things. Way to much to post on this question. Our beliefs begin, as Dionysus said, with Jesus Christ as our Creator, Savior and Redeemer.

We believe that whenever there were righteous people on the Earth, God chose some to be prophets, witnesses, of the Gospel. Adam, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, etc.

We believe that while Christ was on the Earth, he established an organization, that was to be led by the 12 Apostles, and included pastors(bishops), teachers, elders, and other offices. After Christ left, the Church was persecuted and eventually all of the Apostles were killed. This left the Church with no authority to guide it and eventually it fell into apostasy.

God has again called prophets and apostles in the latter-days. The first prophet in these days, was Joseph Smith. He was visited by God the Father and Jesus Christ. Through this and other Heavenly instructions, Joseph was able to again organize Christ's church on the Earth.

There is so much more, but my answer is already getting long. If you would like to know more visit

South Park is a satire and parody of American life, and as such should be accepted as nothing more. Needless to say, both 'parody' and 'satire' forms of humor are based in reality, or as Rod Serling used to say "The 'Twilight Zone' is real life toned down a little."

Of course a mormon interpretation is it's all distortions, lies, anti-mormon propaganda and another form of 'persecution' and another reason why the church is true because of shows like South Park...

I think to those who are outside the church, the episode was correct, since they aren't in the church and see what we really believe, but to those of us that are in the church, it was pretty far off. They took some of our beliefs and twisted them, or told half-truths. It wasn't totally correct.

There are a few sites put out by LDS people that are pretty good for answering questions and tell the way it is. The church website is the best one, check that one out first. I'm also posting one that has questions and answers on it. It really helps to explain why we believe what we believe. I don't expect you to convert, and I'm not even trying to get you to, I just want people to understand what we really believe.

They believe in an infinite number of gods.

They believe that each Mormon male may become a god.

They deny the Christian Doctrine of the Trinity.

They believe that the purpose of wives are to have spirit children throughout eternity to populate new worlds that their husbands will be god's over and be worshipped.

They believe that God was once a man.

They believe that the Archangel Michael is in fact Adam and all of humanity are his descendants.

They believe that Christ lied when He said the gates of hell would not prevail against the Church and in fact teach that the Church fell into apostasy.

They believe that Christ lied when He said that the Church would endure until the Parousia.

They believe that Christ lied when He said that the Church was built of a solid foundation of Himself as the cornerstone and the disciples as the 12 foundation stones.

These are just a few of their strange beliefs.

We claim.... the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

We believe........ in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.

We believe........ in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. You may not get much serious response. They prefer to have a "hook" in you before revealing too much, and some aspects are not discussed with outsiders at all. Take a look at their official site.
