I stubbed my toe the oher night. It was my first toe and it "jammed" backwards. There is no discoloration or pain in the toe itself. The pain and swelling is on the bottom of my foot - between the big toe and first toe. It is bearable but a nuisance. Is there anything i can do to help it heal quickly?

Take medication for inflammation such as Ibuprofen or Advil liquid capsules. take the medication four times a day. Stay off of your foot as much as possible. Place an ice pack on the bottom of the foot, for ten minutes, several times a day. You probably need to see an orthopedic doctor for this. As you need to know what is really going on with your toe.

If it still hurts and you still have swelling from the other night, it's time to go to the ER, unfortunately, unless you have a good orthopedics guy since they tend to have x-ray equipment in the office. Something sounds like it's broken. Of course, I don't think they will be able to do anything for it, like when you break a small toe and they just tape it to the others.
