my daughter had her tonsils removed aug.16 and she was in hospital aug.19 for dehydration and recieved 3 liters of fluids..she was back at doctor yesterday and recieved fluids by mouth..had to force her she says her jaws burn when she drinks..she has only peed 2 times today and drank about 6 ounces..

Well, obviously you know that 6 ounces isn't enough. With no other knowledge of her size or level of exercise I would recommend 8 cups of liquid per day as a minimum. Liquid meaning the milk in her breakfast cereal, the orange juice, water, coke, tea that she should be intaking each day. If her throat hurts and I'm sure it does, make sure the beverage is ice cold. If you have a blender take ice and blend with fruit and milk several times a day. Its been 8 days since the surgery so she should be close to healed by now though.
