Every tunnel that travels underground, buildings and water that i have gone through has lights in side on the celling. Most even have lights that are progressively brighter or dimmer to help your eyes adjust from either daylight or the dark of night based upon the time of day.

You turn on your headlights to see where you're going. Many tunnels have lighting, as well.

A tunnel is by definition, underground.

silly me i usually turn the headlights on when i enter a tunnel. most tunnels however have lights that are on at all times.

You put your headlights on unless there is enough installed lighting for you to see and be seen! Not only does it make sense, it is the law!

all the under ground tunnels i been through were lit up better than outside.and i was a truck driver for many years.
