If God was to make it easy for every single human being to have a easy life then what wud the point of life be? what wud the point of judgment be? what wud the point of faith be? thats what some ppl dont get of why some believe in God, God gave us freewil to do what we want, this life is a test, a test to see how we react to others & in situations, this life is temporary, its about being strong minded/hearted to have faith, its about having faith no matter what, thats the whole point of judgment day, reward in after life, otherwise as i said if God was to take care of sick, dying ppl & other things then whats the point of having a life, point of having God, point of God testing us, one has to so some soul searching & try to understand what people who belive in God think, anyway Peace.

No. I already know I'm going to die. I have no burning interest to exist for longer than that. I am mature enough to know that the people I know who have died have gone forever and I'll never see them again, and I have come to terms with that fact. I cannot think of a single good reason for any god. I will do more good to the earth rotting in a grave than I will in any other way. Honestly.

I don't wish there was a god because I don't think it'd make a difference in how I live my life - am I awed when I see this world, shocked when I hear from terroristic acts and children dying and happy that I am alive? You bet I am! Would that change with a god? You bet it wouldn't!
Who cares about afterlife, I have this one and that's enough.
When I was a lot younger I sometimes wished for the knowledge that somebody cares about ME without wishing to form or change me. That was lastly at age 14. I still think, as I did then, that the truth is much more important than my comfort.

Truthfully, I don't give a hang about an afterlife. I actually prefer that when I die, I'm done. When I do allow myself to pretend God exists, it's always about wishing for a miracle -- such as, eliminating all nuclear weapons from the Earth, or putting an end to unnecessary human suffering, such as eliminating AIDS, or putting an end to ethnic cleansing in Africa. When I snap back to reality, I always remember I want nothing to do with the God of the Old Testament -- a vicious criminal of unworldly proportions. Cold hard death is far better than spending eternity in Heaven, endlessly praising and worshiping the most ruthless coldblooded killer human imagination has ever devised.

"i'm sure they do. at least god will provide a happy ending after death."
The above is from one of your answerers. Is this why he believes in God? To have a happy ending? Seems kind of selfish to me.
Do I wish there was a god? No. It's like wishing I had a third arm or a second head. What for?
Do I fear rotting in a grave? Nope. I won't feel anything. Why should I be scared?

Well, I believe that is exactly the reason that the "myth" of God came to be. And, yes, nothing would be more exciting to me, nothing would thrill me more, than knowing, for a fact, that I will eventually see all of my loved ones that have gone before me up in heaven some day. That we would be reunited for all eternity...I would never have a bad day again. Sometimes I do wish I could believe it, it would definitely make the hard times easier to bear. Unfortunately, I really don't believe it.

Do I wish there was proof? Sure. Do I long for an afterlife? Not really, I try to focus on the here and now. Life is great, I don't want to spend any time worrying about something I know nothing about.

The major theistic religions seem to have Gods that are violent, tyrannical and hypocritical. It probably wouldn't be a good thing if they really existed. Deism postulates that there is a God, but he just doesn't interfere with his creation. I'd be indifferent to a deistic God. If there was a God who was readily observable, truly wise and intelligent and had truly good intentions for us, then I guess that would be good.

Knowing what I know about religion, no. I could easily say "yes that would be nice", but then if it were true all the crap would come with it. No free will, adherence to impossible rules, blind faith, loss of intelligence, mad logic, and most of all...if there was an afterlife, then hell would be part of it. So, no, I think my belief is right where it should be. On the side of reason.

It would be nice to know that there was a God
So he can tell people "hey here I am" and then we will know how to worship him.
In doing this we can eliminate all other religions and establish a true religion which will unite us all under one god.
we will no longer be divided and no one can claim that they are the only ones that god loves and think they can kill and rule in his name.
There will be no wars in his name.
There will be no hate for others about their beliefs or what this certain group of people have done in the past.
Plus I guess it would be nice to know that there is somewhere we go after we die.
I hope its the one where we get a bunch of virgins waiting for us.
That would be sweeeet.

His existance is not dependent upon my belief or not. If he didn't exist just because I didn't believe then a whole lot of you are in a lot of trouble. Also, I am going to rot in a grave regardless and if your god is going to send me to hell or make me only rot in a grave just because I didn't believe the fairytales he allowed then I would not want to be in any heaven that he created.
