My boss went that far, that he got his boss against me and my colleagues and I might be sacked as I voiced my concerns about the situation.

Start looking for a new job. It's a difficult situation, and unfortunately, unless you have a fantastic relationship with your boss' superior, you'll probably look bad if you try to undermine your boss. If you don't feel you can confront your boss (which again, would not be a comfortable situation...), you are not going to enjoy working there. Your boss must feel a bit insecure regarding his own capabilities, if he can't admit making a mistake himself (perhaps he's worried his superior is already aware of too many mistakes, and daren't be seen to be making any more?!...) Best of luck in whatever you decide to do. Onwards & upwards!!

Time for a sit down with your boss, hiss boss, the big boss and the HR manager. If you have any proof that it was his mistake and not yours have that readily available. E-mails, notes anything that proves your point. and if you have those keep a copy for yourself in the event that things do not go right. CYA all the way. Above all keep calm and do not get defensive, that gives them the upper hand. If the boss starts getting defensive and loud and acusatory, keep calm because then you are winning

You need to get it resolved one way or the other. Get your boss and his superior together for a little chat all at the same time and battle it out and leave it behind

you need to prove that is was not you that made the error, make sure you can prove your point, once you have the proof then take it with you and show it to your rep,I once entered a item twice and got a warning the next week the manager did the same thing and nothing was said I thought at the time it was unfair, years later the manager passed away,so I didn't want that either

you should politely inform his superior by saying that maybe your boss made a mistake and that he was actually the one that did it.
