In the USA you can't just give your kid away. That is called child abandonment, and it is a crime. Although Arellano has already committed a whole string of crimes, including illegally entering the USA (twice- the second time a FELONY), and Identity Theft (a FELONY), her son is a USA citizen, and he has the right to be protected from an abusive parent.
Judging by her actions, Elvira Arellano abused her child by forcing him to be a painted monkey, dancing for the camera, spouting propaganda for the illegal alien organizations, she used him to collect SSI illegally, (probably used that stolen social security number to get it too), and now has neglected him and abandoned him.
Child Protective Services can go in and remove him from that (God awful) "godmother" who does not have legal custody, by law, and who just wants to use the kid to get money & abuse him the same way the mother did, forcing the kid to be a painted dancing monkey for the media.
Let him be adopted by a nice US family.

Cosmo, you are truely ignorant - I happen to be First Nations - U.S. Native American indian, so your racist comments have nothing what-so-ever to do with me. But considering the source, why would anyone expect something better from you?

I don't want one more dime of my tax money spent on that kid send him home and let the mexican welfare take care of him. And if she steps foot back in the U.S. throw her under the prison.

Elvira Arellano had what is known as a Hobson's Choice, and I do not know her or her motives well enough to judge her. I have met mothers who were involuntarily separated from their children because of war, or for financial or personal problems at a young age. I think some honestly felt the child was better off where they were and I think some just couldn't hack the responsibility,

The "caregivers" won't be footing the bill to raise the kid and the "mother" and the father, whoever that may be, damn sure won't be, WE WILL. They will be getting a "fat" government check every month. I guarantee you some of that will be going to the mother too. We will also be paying for his medical and dental expenses.

I have nothing against the kid, but the mother is a scumbag criminal that should be in prison now for her FELONY theft of Social Security #s. It sickens me that some people actually want to make this vile excuse for a human out to be some kind of "hero". She is a THIEF. Period. End of story.

I'm not one who likes the idea of government officials getting involved in family matters.....but she wouldn't take her child and she left him with a nut job.......I would advocate some nice family having him and giving him a nice NORMAL life.
He should be starting school and thinking of KID things....not being a puppet for these people. He should be thinking of playing t-ball or soccer or something. Not wondering when he's being expected to perform in front of a bunch of crazy people.

She assigned a guardian for the kid before she was rightfully deported.

So technically she did not 'abandon' him.

He will be a poster child for irresponsible illegal alien parents.

I feel sorry for her son for having a criminal alien mother. I hope she thinks twice before getting pregnant again. I agree, she is using her son in her propaganda media frenzy. Shame on her!

I don't think she deserves this child, or to be called mother. He was left in the care of the pastor and his wife of the church that she was holed up in.

She has signed temprory legal custody to the pastor (or priest or whatever) of the church and his wife. It is legal and he can't be taken away. It is perfectly legal to "sign over' your rights to someone else.

In order for it to be considered abandonment, she would need to be in control of the child, and, tpr (termination of parental rights) could be filed after 9-12 months. However, since she legally gave up placement of the child to the couple, she is not held to the same standard and a TPR can not be served.

And, I agree with you that she has failed as a role model, but, she is well within legalities here.

And, you have to consider what is best for that child. he is with people that love and know him. To desire to remove him from that is only to prove a point to mom. THat is still keeping that child as a "dancing monkey" to prove a point..........

I'd say leave them be. Our tax dollars are already spent on millions of welfare recipients of all races. Yeah they take our jobs for lower pay, but i haven't heard on the news anywhere how hispanics shoot up schools/universities or bomb federal buildings or hijack planes. My Iranian friend got into America SO EASY it took her family only a month to make it through customs. Either buy Mexico and make it a part of the U.S or let em in!
