1.The United States should secure our Southern border with Mexico.
It doesn't make any sense to have uncontrolled massive illegal immigration.
How does it help America in any way by letting in millions of poor & uneducated people, & then not making them learn English & assimilate?
2.The United States should secure our Northern border with Canada.
If the U.S. government continues to leave our border with Canada wide open, it will leave America more vulnerable to a terrorist attack. It gives Islamic extremists an easy opportunity to get into the U.S.
3.The U.S. government should deport every illegal immigrant convicted of a crime.
We should have zero tolerance when it comes to illegal immigrants committing crimes, even if it's just a DUI.
How does it make any sense to let a foreign national come to America illegally, & then let them stay after they have committed a crime against an American citizen?

Thank you, I am with you on that. It is crazy. Have you seen the newest out of our courts?

An appeals court has concluded that just being an illegal alien in the United States doesn't necessarily violate the law, so a judge cannot deny probation and require a jail sentence for a convicted drug dealer who is an illegal alien.

They won't close the borders because whether you want to admit it or not, they take jobs that you sure as hell won't take, it's profitable to let them in ( how much you can make off of them vs how much you have to pay in social programs, jail, etc.), and i agree that anyone of them convicted of a felony should be deported, no questions asked, even if we have to fly you on a plane with a parachute and push them out over their home country! I do have a novel idea though, that might solve both sides of the argument! Have you seen starship troopers? If they want to stay, let them go to Iraq, Iran, or where ever we have a fight, let them serve for 4 yrs., if they make it back whole then automatic citizenship! If they come back injured to the point where they can't contribute to society, give 'em 75K and a ticket bac to their country!

As a former fed law enforcement officer, I think every thing you say is correct but I would add a five year mandatory sentence for employing an Illegal immigrant for the person in charge of human resources, the CFO and the CEO of the company period dot end of story.

Do the words: "Mr. Gorbachev tear down this wall" ring any bells?
Do you know the place where you are standing and/or living was taken illegally from the people who lived in this continent before it was "conquered"?
#3, the problem is as soon as they are deported they come right back. Not all illegal immigrants are criminals. Many are cooking your meals, so you can buy $1 hamburgers, cleaning hotels for minimum wages so you can have affordable vacations. By the way, they pay taxes just like everybody else but they don't get to see any social security benefits. See, it's not so simple. I'll give you a start for trying to understand a problem that is very, very complex.

I agree with all of those! , yes, secure all our borders, and I can care less what happens to illegal immigrants who have been convicted of a crime (it would need to be only for those convited of murder, rape, etc); deport, put in prison, etc.

it will take a revaluation to wake the govt up. united states citizens spend more then legal immigrants, legal immigrants spend more then illegals. this came from walmart info, i would post the link but i will get fired. this is fact, i read the report myself and i do not believe in lying about anything.

We have to keep calling and faxing our Congressman and Senators. Thats the only way to get the borders secured. Bush isn't going to do it.
