There are a couple of things that might be causing these problems. The burning may be caused by something in the contact lens solution is irritating your eyes, or by eyes that are naturally dry. You can try different types of lens cleaning solutions to see if the solutions are causing the problem. Some of the Renu products have cleansers in the solution, so you end up putting the cleanser into your eyes - this causes itching or burning in some people. As an alternative, you can buy one solution for cleaning and storing the lenses and another saline solution without additives for rinsing the lenses before wearing them. There are also solutions for sensitive eyes. Unfortunately, you have to experiment to find one that works best.

The dry eyes at the end of the day can be caused by natural dryness or by inadequate oxygen reaching the eye. Dry eyes can be treated with a few drops of wetting solution a couple of times during the day. The wetting solutions come in tiny bottles, similar to a Visine bottle.

If a different lens solution and wetting solutions don't work, you need to go back to your eye doctor. You may need a different type of contact lens.

Hi, well the burning could be for many reasons, you can have a lesion in your eye like a corneal ulceration (normally for prolongued use of contacts for example 10 or more hours a day) ,or dryness in your eye (you eye doesn't have enough lubrication and then the lense hurts the cornea, or you are not cleaning properly your contacts.
Then, if the burn dissapear in 5 minutes, i don't believe in a
damage in your eyes, i think you have care your contacts better. Renu and all those all in one solutions are bad. Im using contacts since 20 years ago and i know what im saying.
The best solution are:
Cleaning: POLICLEANS II (Alcon)
Preserving at night: AOSEPT ( CIBA)
Don't forget remove proteins every week with UNIZAME
I think if you do this your contacts will be perfectly fine. I had that problem years ago and when a change for this products was like a new start.
This products are a little more expensive than Renu but really is a huge difference.
Good luck!!!

My Eyes They Burn

The burning is not normal. Some contact lens wetting solutions have mercury in them -- if yours does, that might be irritating your eyes. You're not putting the lenses in with plain water, are you? That could cause burning because the eye wants saline (you know how your tears taste salty?). Use a regular saline solution -- buy it cheap at any drugstore.

However, because your eyes are dry at the end of the day with Acuvue Advanced, I think you should see an ophthamologist (not optometrist). And stop wearing the contacts until you've seen him or her. You don't want to damage your corneas. Really. You dont'!

You seem to be sensitive to renu ,try solo care aqua it also coats the lenses so they don't get dry that quick-and if you have already dry eyes you should try lenses made of different materials I recommend Acuvue Oasys and use eye drops to support your tear film.
