I delayed getting contacts for that same reason. But once I got there and the doctor or nurse showed me how and watched me do it. It was a piece of cake. My eyes are really big and so it was easy. My husband has narrow eyes and has a hard time getting them in every once and a while.

Right am guessing ur scared as its ur first time! just remember that so long is ur hands clean and u use clean contacts it wont hurt a bit remember to clean them out once in a while & steralising
first you put the contact on the tip of ur finger face down and insert it in ur eye most ppl would have to look up to get it will fitted but once you've done it loads you'll get the hang of it

I had the same problem at first, but I had to practice a lot before I finally was able to wear my contacts. Just open your eye with one hand while the other puts in the contact. Before you know it you'll be a pro! :)

If you are afraid to touch your eyes, then contacts are not meant for you. If you really need them, then practice without the contact lenses. Just imagine something on your index finger (do not put the contact on your index finger) Keep on practicing everyday until you are comfortable touching your eyes without contacts. Then when you are ready, try it with contacts. Good luck

When putting in contact Look down at the floor and pull your upper lid up slightly. Do not look at the contact. Place in the upper most part of the eye and blink into place.
It goes in easy if you do not place it right on your pupil.

I am the same way. When my finger starts coming toward my eye, I just automatically close it. I have never been able to put in contacts.

I'm assuming that this means everytime you try to touch your eye you blink, obviously making putting in contacts difficult. To be honest, the only thing to do is to convince yourself its mind over matter.
Good luck!

Have you talked to the eye doctor? There are different contact lens types. They can help you learn to put them in. The first time I had hard or rigid ones. It took a while to get use to them. I now have soft.
You could also talk to him/her about other options like lasik eye surgery.
You can practice and relax to get use to it. Practice taking your finger to the corner of your eyelid. I have to raise my eyebrows when I put mine in.

yea.... i got contacts...its ok if you don't get it the first try...it took me an hour in the doctors office tryna get em in lol but after i put em in i took em out and then tried it again and it only took me 2 seconds that time....u really ain't gotta touch your eye just get close enough and if your close enough it's like a magnet and will go in....or u can look up but i look in the mirror hold my bottom ey lid down look up (or away but up is easier) and put it in, then blink that easy
