Hi, I am a teenage girl looking for a job to get over the school year and I was wondering what kind of jobs (if any) I could get a car dealership? I LOVE being around cars and I think I would have a lot of fun being there every day. It doesn't have to be with cars, but can you be a cashier or something?

I would love ANY advice, and if it helps I like Ford the best.

Well, I work at a BMW dealership as a receptionist/cashier...

It's hard to get a summer job and work full time, but some part time positions that dealerships have are...
receptionist
cashier
porter (work in service moving cars around but you have to have a clean driving record)
Lot attendant (putting up balloons, signs, moving cars around, driving customer's cars to them, or picking cars up from customers)

You could also get on the websites of the dealerships and see what job openings they have and if any sound interesting to you and what the qualifications are.

Good luck.

Car Dealership Jobs For Teenagers

I worked at a Nissan car dealership for a man who owns at least 20 (including Ford). I was first hired as a salesman, but was horrible at it. However, my GM liked how I respected him and always told the truth (rare b/c he was surrounded by the salesmen). He made me the "greeter" and paid me 9.00 an hour, with about 13 hours a week in OT. Not too bad for my city.

You can definetly be a cashier. But there are other jobs too! For example: 1. parts delivery. 2. car washer/detailer. 3. greeter. 4. office assistant. 5. call center operator.

Just go and apply. Wear something cute, but not too slutty. There are usually only just men in these jobs so a fresh young face will be appealing. When you meet the GM, make sure you show him your enthusiasm for cars.

Btw, you will probably be interviewed by the HR department first (at major car dealerships) before being interviewed by the asst. sales manager, sales manager, or general manager.

A clean driving record is required and it is helpful to know how to drive a manual transmission. If you don't know, don't tell.

Good Luck!

Maybe a sales woman or cashier would be good.
