Like people in my family are often Buddhist and Hindu. (Other religons too, but those are the major ones)

In our little praying place in our home we have hindu gods, then we have a monk, and various preists and religous leaders from other religons who my mother and father respect

So how many of you follow more then one religon? Or even if you don't completly follow the religon word for word, incorpiate various ideas from the religons together

I don't think mayne people follow a religon completly and belive every aspect of it though

well, being born and raised in hawaii i had a very mixed family and group of friends. my great-grandmother on my moms side took me to a hawaiian church most of the time and on occasion i would go with my grandma on my dads side to a morman church. when i wasn't with them i went with my friends to a christian only church and then with some other friends to a christian/catholic church. i would take turns basically. in my mind i believe that all of our Gods are the same person. we just have different names for him/her and we have a different theory of what they look like. in the end we are worshiping the same person...the person that created us. maybe i didn't really understand the hawaiian church, the morman church, and the christian church because i was little but i do remember the christian/catholic church which i chose to on my own to get baptized there when i was 16. haha, i kinda forgot where i was headed with this one. but you are right, many people don't follow a religion completely.

well, since i forgot where i was headed in my little paragraph thing i shall end here.

take care...aloha!

I wouldn't say a person with multiple religions is spiritual, I would call them confused, indecisive maybe in the midst of change. I would say both Buddha and Jesus outside of religion were both very spiritual because they understood life and how to coupe with problems within it. As far as looking at two separate thinks at once, do it to find similarity's and contradictions this is the way of higher learning. Once you are good at seeing these things life takes on a whole new view, people can't trick you and you instantaneously see the big picture of everything. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy though because you'll constantly see wrong in everything, but you'd also learn compassion because you'll see that humans are always like children and can't do any better than they do. I've noticed that atheist are contradictory, it's like they straddle the fence. I thought atheist didn't believe in gods so why do they constantly care that someone else does. Wish they would quit being a half asser and make up their minds, I think they would make good Christians because they like passing judgment on others too. If they don't want that then they should be a good nonbeliever and stop caring about it and find a hobby or something intelligent to do besides whining. Maybe they are practicing multiple religions, an atheist/christian. There's your oxymoron's, do humans have some kind of moron fetish going on. :)

Hi! I was brought up in a Buddhist household. My mother chanted regularly but never compelled us girls (3) to join her once we were twelve or so. Growing up in Hawaii was a great experience due to the extremely diverse cultural, spiritual, racial, influences. But we all had one thing in common and that was being on island all together. There are a lot of Asian Buddhists as well as western (Portuguese, Puerto Rican, Filipino, English, Mexican, etc.) Christians who came to Hawaii to work the fields and cattle over a hundred years ago. There influences were both very strong. I can honestly say that that most families in Hawaii understand and somehow manage to embrace both. My sisters and I Bon dance and pound Mochi but also decorate Christmas trees and hunt Easter eggs. Your question shows great insight; thank you!-Hoku

What I follow is based on many religions, thought I hesitate to call myself religious... I am a spiritualist, and I believe that all religion is true in the minds of those who believe it.
As far as following...for the most part I only try to follow a good and moral path, my morals bieng, essentially, help people, dont hurt, dont judge. Custums and taboos...I dont get most of them. I do incorporate many holidays into my beliefs...I use them as a time to celebrate life, family and friendship. It works for me ^_^
I guess, you could say, I believe in all religions and follow no single one?

Buddhism, Hinduism, Sikhism and Jainism are all part of the same religion. I practice all of them. I do not view Buddhism as being a different religion from hinduism.

I've studied enough of all the world's religions to know that each of them have at least a few beliefs I can agree with. So I guess you could say I'm multi-religion.

Followers will only follow the religion they know, i.e. were brainwashed with. That's why all religions will tell you that their's is the only true faith.

Funny that.
