The first words in the Bible are these"In the beginning God created the Heavens and the earth."Genesis 1:1..The existence of God is taken for granted. To attempt to be "wise above what is written" is great folly. The existence of God is the greatest of mysteries. Neither man nor angel can comprehend it."Canst thou by searching find out God? Canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection? It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know? The measure therfore is longer than the earth and broader than the sea" Job 11:7-9
If there is a God,man can know something about himself, where he came from, something about the universe, why it exists. If there is no God,nothing can be satisfactory known, and all things, whether they exists by fate or chance, are in hopless confusion and darkness.
Philosophers have generally admitted that there are "First truths" or First principles" from which all reasoning must proceed. The First Cause is another name for God. All secondary causes are dependent on the First Cause, but the First cause is absolutely independent.
Concieve the Divine Being as a Spirit, having the same dominion over the universe, in every part of space as that which our minds posses over every portion of our bodies. God has only to will the most importantly changes, and thay are instantly accomplished." He speaks, and it is done; he commands, and it stands fast".
finally,The Devine Being,as the great Father of Spirits, combines within Himself all the seperate energies of the universe. God is the source, orgin, and fountain of all power difussed through creation. The very minds which he has formed are kept in mysterious subordination, and can never overstep the bounds he has assigned them.Once have I heard this, that power belongs unto God. God is self-existent; for there can be no reason why he exists that do inhere in himself. The ideal of self-existence overwhelms us, but the constitution of the human mind is such as to require us to believe that there is a self-existent Being, the cause of all finite existence...There is a God,and he sits on the highest throne in Heaven!

I suspect they were created simultaneously. Then again, I don't see the divine and the physical universe as two separate and distinct things. Part of the Big Bang theory is that there was absolutely nothing before the Bang, not even time. If that theory is true, there really isn't anything before the Bang. The Bang was the beginning of absolutely everything.

I believe, and so do many others, that God was created by people to explain things that they couldn't before science was developed.
For example, take the weather. Before science could explain precipitation and evaporation, the only thing people could make sense of it was blaming it on a diety. Look at all of the mythology tales. A diety is the reason for everything that happened in the world.
Now people hold onto a higher power to explain life after death, because we still have no legitimate proof as to what happens. It is all just something you believe in to gain ease in our day to day lives.

Well, if God had to be created....everything else had to be created....
So, what created the two rocks that banged into each other?
How could rocks have existed without first being created....and who/what created those rocks?
For that reason, I feel that we have to believe in a spiritual being, something bigger than all of us...because our finite minds cannot comprehend something always being.
The Bible says, I am the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end. That is the only explanation we have....
Can science explain what created the rocks?

If "God" is real, I think its quite possible the Big Bang could have created it.
Good question.

Is the existence of something from nothing more palatable than the idea that they always existed? To me they are equally baffling. Neither makes sense to a human mind. We're not smart enough...yet.

God is eternal, He has no creation, or beginning or end...
It IS difficult for us to fathom, because we humans are so use to measuring things in terms of time. "When", "for how long", "before/after". But God is beyond such trivial concepts. He is the great "I AM", not "I WAS", or, "I CONTINUE TO BE", simply, "I AM". God created time and space, as we perceive them. He is beyond such limits, and exists in eternal reality, above all else.
