Because they look better when they are muscular rather than blubbery or scrawny. They also give awesome hugs. it also shows that they're conscious about how their health and they care about first impressions

They are interesting to look at and they are also fun to stroke and play with. Not all women like muscular men. I don't! I had two in my past dating experiences and usually what they have in bulk, they lack below the belt! I love guys with some meat; the teddy bear types.

I don't really care about that... but think about it like this. It's part of nature that a mother look for someone who is capable of protecting their offspring. That's why men look for slender women because since they are in better shape, it's more likely that they are healthy and not full of diseases so there offspring will be born healthy and strong. I know that you're going to be like I never even thought about that in the first place so it's not true but our subconscious is thinking about it and translates it into attraction.

It ultimately boils down to a biologically wanting to procreate the human species. People who are healthy are generally more attractive. A woman will want to procreate with a healthy male. To a degree, a muscular male appears healthy.

Because it's a biological signal of strength, health, "good breeding stock" if you will. Her genes are telling her to mate with him because of the signals his physique is sending, for the purpose of giving her children the best chance possible, and it translates to: "Hey! He's cute! Think I'll be a doormat for him!" in her brain.
