Plead no contest and request that you be sentenced to traffic school. In some cases, the judge may not report your misstep to DMV (consequently no demerits added to your record and your insurance company will not know about it)....but you'll still have to pay the fine. Trust me, they've heard all the excuses.
The only way you could win by pleading not guilty is if you had some corroborating evidence...another reliable/independent eye witness, otherwise they'll go with the cop's word, regardless if he was right or wrong....sorry.

If you cant afford a lawyer,by law of the Constitution, one will be appointed to you.You can drag it out .When they see ur making them spend money. They will plead bargain down with you.Never take 1st or 2 ND.offer.Try find out when cop takes his vacation,if anytime soon.Try get a court date that week. You have to play hard ball back. But dont just plead guilty to a lie.No contest is like a guilty plead and its to protect you of law suits if in a case there could be..And they say cops don't lie(LOL)..Good luck with it..

you do not need a lawyer to plead guilty, on a side note if you where respectful when you where pulled over to the officer their is a good chance if your recoded is some what clean the prosecutor will lower the charges
go early the day of court ask to talk to the prosecutor ask them if their is any way they can cut you a break, they usually do
i drive allot and have done this a few times and it did work in lowering my points

i agree no contest means that your not pleading guilty or Innocent, some times it is just better to hire a lawyer cause they can work wonders with a ticket and you do know that the speed guns are not always accurate

No contest to a traffic violation??? You crazy?
I'd appear and see if the PO shows up. If he doesn't, you stand a fair chance of the ticket being dismissed. If he does, you can always request an adjournment and see if he shows the next time. But the answer to your question is YES, you can do it without an attorney present.

Pleading no contest is the worst that you can do. Chances are the cop wont be there to dispute it if you choose to enter a not guilty plea.

She is right. Plead no contest or no lo contedo instead of not guilty. Throw in a Thomas Jefferson quote like "Rebellion to tyranny is obediance to God". See what they have to say about that
