You can get a nice chest, especially if you can find a cheap used one at a garage sale/thrift shop/craigslist. Old chests look really cool and can be hiding all sorts of your extra stuff in them. Also, a folding screen can conceal boxes or other things if you put them in the corner and then put the screen up as a sort of display in front of them.

Go to BED BATH and BEYOND and purchase some underbed lifts they are around $12.00 and lift the bed about 7 inches for added storage.. Then measure the space and get some storage containers that fit under the bed. I like to use spacebags as well... You can "hide" a lot of stuff under the bed.... Also, it might be wise to go through those boxes and get rid of things that you are NOT presently using.. Or can part with, then you'd have more space.. You can even store things under tables, just put a table cloth over it to "hide" boxes and things.. I have a side table that's just a 6 ft. folding table with a really nice table cloth on it.. No one knows there's kids toys in baskets underneath it.... You could even if you had the know how make a loft bed and use underneath as extra storage... Just hang a pretty curtain to "hide" the boxes... Good luck

Two things;1 Stack the boxes in any design you want on each side of your bed/ sofa/ whatever/ 3 high; 4 side by side and cover them with matching material to look like a table .
2. Buy some concrete blocks or bricks and boards and make shelves to put the boxes on; cover them with contact paper so they look decorative. Label them so you know what is in them. You can get free beer or wine boxes at any bar and grill by just asking then they are all the same size.Tell them how many you want and to call you when they are ready to be picked up.

Under the bed is a good place. I know for like 3.00 at walmart you can buy the under the bed storage where there are a bit flatter boxes. Also catty corner your couch put a few boxes in the corner and cover with a blanket. Otherwise week out the junk and only keep what you have to.

well if the boxes are full of clothes you can try getting those plastic bags that squish the air out of them and flatten everything. slide them under your bed and such. anyway, i have the same problem (dorm room). one of the things i always do is stack the boxes up and put a blanket over them, make them into a table or..many tables if there is room. otherwise i hide them under unused chairs/desks in corners or in the back of the closet. I hope this sparked some ideas for you.

don't just use one hanging rod in your closet. stores like bed, bath, and beyond carry additional hanging rods that have a chain and hang from your original rod so that you can hang twice as many clothes. the chain has a hook and is only on the ends of the bar.
also, consider shoe racks that hang on your door. another option is the closet organization systems by rubbermaid. they are sold at target and are customizable so they can be rearranged. again, you have more levels for clothes and shoes than just one hanging bar.
also, think about getting decorative storage boxes. ikea sells them really cheapily and a recent domino article featured two celebs who both were using the ikea boxes. they are colored and patterned so you have a wide variety. some of your stuff you can't hide, so display it prettily.
use the space under the bed. there are underbed boxes at target. store blankets, quilts, and sweaters here.

Try hanging a rod from the ceiling a couple feet from a wall. Hang drapes, hide the boxes behind the drapes and then put a table & couple chairs or your tv in front of the drapes. Sort of a false wall effect.

Stack some and put a long table cloth over them and use them for an accent table.
Get some of those low totes that can slide under your bed.
Think about how many of those boxes you need? If you can leave things packed for a year, isn't that just clutter?

FIRST OF ALL: you should get rid of things you dont really need. the less clutter the less mess youll have. you can purchase those bags that you use a vacc with to get all the air out i think theyre called air bags or something like that they sell tham at walmart and kmart and target. or get those thin boxes that go nder your bed
