You need to call your parents or some adult that can take you there. Dogs can easily die from seizures so if your parents can leave from work, this is a very reasonable excuse. He needs to be seen by a vet immediately.

BTW: The above comment that says there is nothing you can do....They have medicine (Phenobarbital) that prevents seizures. Some Animal Hospitals have pet ambulances.

Perhaps call the vet and explain the situation and hopefully they can give you some tips.
Seizures can be caused by stimulus, so you did right about the light and tv. Try putting your dog in a really dark room like a bathroom with no window.
Good luck!

Disgusting fools with out a life. They isn't allowed to EVER own an additional canine. Whilst you get a canine, it comes with the whole %, which can or would possibly not include these *gross tumours*. These people with no trouble are not able to consider love... Just appear on the canine's face. Negative thing. I desire her the fine success! I also have a an identical story... Of those stupid fellas who deserted the dog about 2 miles from their household, the canine came back, and so they still had the heart to ship the dog away... Or those humans on the way to get rid of the canine due to the fact that it doesn't suit the carpet. EGH.

You should call your vet and tell him what you are seeing.. He will be able to give you advice as to what you should do. Might also want to keep a log of the seizures, how long they last, and other details.. So when you can get your dog to the vet, you can tell the vet everything.

My 13 yr old dog has started to have them too.
Vet said not to medicate until she has 3 in rapid succession because the medication is rough on their kidneys.
I started mine on a better dog food and some natural supplements. Twice when I have seen a seizure coming on I have been able to stop it by overloading her with outside stimulus - yelling her name real loud while moving her front legs in running motion (since these get stiff first). Once I did not catch right at the first sign and this tactic did not work. It is worth a try with your dog.

Ashley,
The same thing was happening to my 13 year old schnauzer.
My vet told me there is nothing that you can really do. When she would have her seizures, I would wrap her in a blanket and try to restrain her from hurting herself from jerking herself into the floor, table, whatever. I am sorry that you have to watch him go through that, I know it is really tough. If you really love him, I would suggest putting him out of his pain. Eventually, he will start moving very sluggishly, and his eyesight will deteriorate and I think he will be in alot of pain. Just be happy you had 14 good years with him and good luck

Call your vet and tell him/her what is going on. Ask them how to keep the dog the most comfortable until your parents or whoever get home and can drive you and the dog to the vet.
If you have any other animals, please keep them away from this sick dog, they may try to harm him.

I am so sorry that your dog is ill. Just try to keep him as calm as you can and as comfortable as you can. Call the vet now though.

call ur vet and ask them if they could come to u. most vets (at least all the ones in my area) do house calls and come to ur house if u have no other way to get to the office. so call ur vet and ask them if they could come possibly and ask them what to do.
