I have been prescribed 550mg Naproxen for bodily pains. How effewctive is the medicine? I have never taken it before.

Anyone else ever taken Naproxen, and if so, how did it work for you?

Naproxen is an NSAID that is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. You can get ibuprofen tablets over the counter here but naproxen is a pso here. (Prescription only drug.) It should help you but ALWAYS take it with food and if you suffer from an upset stomach while taking this drug stop immediately. Do not take any more than 8 tablets in 24 hours and no more than two at a time.NSAID's can cause stomach bleeding. Some Nsaids have also been linked with heart attacks but to my knowledge naproxen hasn't. I suffer from Rheumatoid Arthritis and USED to take naproxen but I had to stop as it brought back an ulcer I had years ago in my duodenum. Please be careful. It sounds as if you have sciatica, that is so painful but can clear up on it's own accord. Physiotherapy may help.

Naproxen is fine and good for pain. Just follow your doctor's instructions. You can also speak with the pharmacist. My dad has taken Naproxen in that strength for back pain.

You know Naproxen as Alleve. (Alleve is the brand name.) I used to be a Certified Pharmacy Technician.

This works very good on inflammation, arthritis pain , Fibromyalgia and other inflammatory conditions.

The first time I took this medicine I was surprised at how fast it worked. I think you will be very pleased with it.
