Sure it can be done, but its not a good practice. IF a 32 acp were to get stuck in the barrel and another cartridge is fired, that barrel will peel like a banana and hurt your pride or worse.
Second, there is no riflings in the adapter so you are left with a lot fo "free bore" before that bullet engages the riflings. The reason for matching ammo to the chamber is so that the bullet perfectly enters the throat and leade for proper engagement with the riflings. If this isn't near perfect, accuracy suffers signifcantly.
By the way, these adapters are problematic. When the chamber gets hot, they like to stick to fired casings. When this happens, out comes your adapter. If it hits the ground, clean it or when you put it back in you will get scratches from dirt in the chamber.

So your question wasn't can I shoot other calibers in the 30/30, it was if I have an adapter can I shoot other bullets in a 30/30. There are many adapters to allow different rounds to be fired in a gun. We know that, and that was not your question.

Way to go Boker.... James J..It's not a question of believeing you or any thing you are saying. Who in their right mind would want to substitute at .32ACP caliber or .32 HR Magnum for a 30-30 round? Adapters wern't even a part of the original question to begin with. I would worry about anyone that would use an adapter in a rifle that was chambered for another cartridge anyway. Common sense ? Logic ? Safety?

But, ONLY if you have an adapter! Without that adapter, you can not shoot anything but a 30-30 round from a 30-30 rifle.

Gee I sure hope you feel vindicated now! Did you know there's a breech adaptor that lets you shoot .308 caliber thru a 30-06 rifle? Did you know you can safely shoot 45-70 & 45-90 ammo safely thru a 45-120 rifle? Did you also know you can shoot 50-70 ammo thru a 50-90 rifle? Did you know a hot loaded 50-90 cartridge can damn near dislocate your shoulder if you don't hold the buttplate firmly against your shoulder socket?

I believe your original question contained no mention of a chamber adaptor or anything; if it had you would have received different answers I am sure. Heck; you can even put an adaptor in and shoot 22 shells in an 8mm Mauser if you are so inclined.

think it would be much wiser to purchase 30-30 ammo,
or a .32 weapon (safer too))
