I know not all religous people are like this but..

For those of you who abousletly deny evolution, among with other biology related science, does that mean that none of you ever pursue science as a degree? Or wants to become a doctor?

Because I was watching jesus camp and the priest say, not that we're made out of cytoplasam, whatever that is

My first reaction was what an idiot

my second was I suppose none of them pursue a career in a science field if their so unwilling to learn about the basic strucutre of cells

And I'm not even sure if anyone in R&S is like that

GOD created Science

HE IS THE MASTER SCIENTIST

These children are being indoctrinated by people who have no scientific background. Science is difficult, often wrong, always testable and ever changing. These priests have an easier job: all they have to do is sell their one sided untested (until these kids learn to think for themselves) world view and if they butcher the science, so much the better.

Showmen like Hovind, Morris and Ham can simply say: it's either God or Darwin, design or chance, which educated people know is not the essence of the argument.

The creationist movement is a primary reason I gave up Christianity. If they must go to these lengths to build up their credibility, then I question not only the existence of their god, but also if they truly believe in anything at all.

I would expect to hear really stupid stuff if I were to sit down and watch Propaganda that Joe Goebbels would have been proud to direct.

I totally deny evolution and my degree a "science" degree. I work in "science".

You, for example, have no idea of anything about Biology. Even though I am an engineer and not a Biologist I know that human beings are made primarily out of Cytoplasm.

Your first reaction should have been "what an idiot", but the reaction should not have occurred when watching propaganda . It should have occurred in the bathroom looking at an image looking back at you.

Cytoplasm, which can also be referred to as cytosol, means cell substance. This name is very fitting because cytoplasm is the substance of life that serves as a molecular soup in which all of the cell's organelles are suspended and held together by a fatty membrane. The cytoplasm is found inside the cell membrane, surrounding the nuclear envelope and the cytoplasmic organelles.

No, because we give no credit to evolution does not mean we defy all science. I can't see the logic in one creature evolving into something else entirely, but I can see a species adapting to the changing surroundings, weather, loss of food source, invasion of other species etc.

Many Christians study the variety of fields in science, medicine, marine biology, agriculture, and many others. Science is a study, Christians are not against studying and learning.

By cousin was both a Medical Doctor, and a Christian Fundamentalist who did not believe in evolution.

Most fundamentalists, I believe, study applied sciences, like Engineering or Medicine, so that they do not have to deal with the question of whether evolution is true or not.

There are a few exceptions:

"In Six Days
Why fifty scientists choose to believe in creation"
edited by John F. Ashton, Ph.D.

Why would any educated, self-respecting scientist with a PhD advocate a literal interpretation of the six days of creation? Why, indeed, when only one in three Americans believes “the Bible is the actual word of God and is to be taken literally, word for word” according to a recent Gallop poll.

Science can neither prove nor disprove evolution anymore than it can creation. Certainly there are no human eyewitness accounts of either. However, certain factors are present today which are capable of swaying one’s beliefs one way or the other.

In this book are the testimonies of fifty men and women holding doctorates in a wide range of scientific fields who have been convinced by the evidence to believe in a literal six-day creation. For example, meet:

The geneticist who concludes that there must have been 150 billion forerunners of “modern man” in order for the natural selection required by evolution to have taken place in the development of man. The evidence for such vast numbers of “prehistoric man” is in dire shortage.

The orthodontist who discovered that European museum fossils of ancient man have been tampered with to adhere to evolution theories.

The geologist who studied under Stephen Jay Gould and literally cut the Bible to pieces before totally rejecting evolution.

All fifty of these scientists, through faith and scientific fact, have come to the conclusion that God’s Word is true and everything had its origin not so very long ago, in the beginning, In Six Days.

oh man.... did he say that :-(

Well, i do know some fundamentalist Christians who do engage in scientific knowledge. They do not oppose the existence of cytoplasm however.

My girlfriend is a biologist and she is far more conservative than i am. I also know many fundamentalist christian doctors, engineers, pharmacists etc

I consider myself a fundamentalist Christian and I'm a biologist (but I'm an evolutionist so i guess that I don't count)

Please don't view all Christians based on this person you heard. Many, many of us are concerned with scientific development and knowledge

Personally, every time i learn something about nature i see how great God is

Science is not 100% true. Every Christian's belief is not 100% true.
Truth is what it is, and truth is not found in a little group all by itself making it easy for people to find. You have to dig and sift through all the thoughts ideas and beliefs to find truth.
Science has truth to it, science has ideas that are false.

First let me comment that I am not a "fundie".

I'm a Bible believing Christian.

While I was studying biology and chemistry in college, I was a double major, I took an elective class from the Astronomy department. This was BEFORE I was a mature Christian.

I was in college while NASA was landing men on the moon.

The raw data from NASA, which I learned in Astronomy class, directly contradicted what was taught in the biology classes.

It was in that Astromony class, taught by the Physics Dept. that I first became convinced that evolution could not have occured.

I changed majors and got my degree in Mathematics.

Yes, of course. Evolution is a theory and scientists study theories they don't believe in or agree with.

You must live in a different world, there are thousands of Christians that are doctors and scientists.

Btw, there are millions of people in the world that reject evolution. Millions that claim no religion.

Your religious bigotry is offensive to even me and I have pretty thick skin.

My first reaction to your pointless, accusatory, demeaning question, What an idiot

My second reaction? Thou weedy fly-bitten malcontent!
