Even if you didn't believe in any religion (and were completely against religion alltogether because of all the drama and conflict is causes), but were still a good person all through your life and had faith that a higher being existed, whether it be God, Jesus, etc. - would you still go to Heaven when you die? I just want some people's opinions on this. If you were for some reason born into the "wrong" religion, would you be doomed to hell unless you converted to the "right" religion even if you were an upstanding citizen your whole life? Doesn't Jesus forgive? Why are some religions so against the beliefes of others?

i think its all about a persons heart .. what love do they accept and what vision of goodness do they have for the world .. personally i think jesus embodies that truth and if someone of another belief system knows the facts about it they wont reject Jesus' messege .. neither should they be rejected by me if they dont know the full messege maybe they are receptive to the same messege and understand it a different way and i dont think im qualified to be their judge ..

I think based on the fact that all major religions (the three Abrahamic Traditions, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc.) teach the same ideologies regarding living a simplistic, moralistic lifestyle where you don't hurt others, etc. that maybe God presented different religions to different people so everyone could have an understanding and knowledge of him. So that being said, I think there something to be said for when you just simply believe in God as some higher power/presence who has miraculous powers and can "save" people in a variety of manners, and live a moralistic lifestyle.

If you consider the OT God and compare Him to Jesus, you'll find the two are not very similar. The OT God is responsible for many judgments, which often lead to death and (according to Job), tests his faithful subjects using inhumane practices. He also judges and condemns the gay and any person outside the Hebrew clan. Jesus never kills anyone, or causes anyone's death and never is anything said about homosexuality. The two are often different.
I believe in the reincarnation aspect where either a spirit or soul, reincarnates into different situations until enlightenment (a mental state of heaven) is achieved.

No.
Even if I believed in a deity, I don't believe it would admire faith; in fact, I have posited that a god exists and has creted this universe as a test, intentionally leaving no evidence for its existence. Only atheists would be worthy of continued life!
Religions hate competition, that's why they oppose other religions.

Why would a god get all bent out of shape for failing to believe in him? Gods seem to be universally petty and narcissistic.

Since there is no reason to believe in heaven or hell (just as there is no reason to believe in any sort of god), the question is moot.

That is why I have a hard time with religions. Most of them believe that if you don't believe what they believe you won't receive their reward.

Tolkien was Catholic!
It is possible in those situations that you still might get to heaven, but if you are aware of Christianity and deny it, then there's a lot less of a chance.

No, the bible says there is no other name given where by we might be saved, that name is Jesus. You must have Him in your heart to be saved.
